Sem Chumbo:

Thank you for the Cohen, he was a source of great national pride in my country, not known for its poets or a love of poetry.
Good morning, Jeffrey.

It's facile to simply (& repeatedly) say Leonard Cohen was 2nd only to Dylan (whose influence almost cannot be measured, & including on Leonard)
- w/ Cohen being less prolific but more consistent (& therefore an interesting contrast)
- as it says nothing about their qualitative distinctions - about Cohen's uniqueness.
But - it is appropriate to Cohen's Greatness to say he's a contender for the pole position. & - he will always be a pole star to navigate for multitudes. As Joan Baez said of Bob: many people just don't understand it - can't relate to him. But - for those who do - there are no filters: it goes deep, essentially to the core.
Like Dylan - it's far beyond mere Entertainment - whole other rooms of the building: they are tools you can use for Life - there is Wisdom. The rarest & most valued of things - especially in 'Pop'...

Good morning JD, SC, RRN63, and planeteers to come. Thanks for the Leonard Cohen tribute. I was hoping for a LC tour with the new album. The one time I saw him will have to do. It does seem to be getting darker.

Sem he had a twinkle in the eye even when on stage singing to the female backing singers.

it's good to have the Cohen on this show. i lost my affection for him a while ago, i guess simply due to the overplaying of certain songs. i had a good frien, a poet, who loved cohen's music and writing and i became a fan. i liked his poetry more, though; much of which never made it to music...

Dylan holds no one in awe
But Leonard he will make an exception for

@BiUK: Leonard was very giving with his band mates. I saw him kneel when introducing the band members.
