in the early 2000s, i took a girl i'd just met and who'd never heard of Suicide on our first date to see them headline at the old Knitting Factory. it worked out well, ~15 years later i still haven't found a better litmus test.

ha no... but in a coincidence, years later, a different g/f and i saw Alan Vega at some random bar restaurant in the Financial District. i didnt get to talk to him but remember thinking he was a charismatic dude... on and off stage. i saw them a bunch of times, they were so great. i remember people went nuts at that one Knitting Factory show.
