Abraham Gomez-Delgado of Zemog el Gallo Bueno:
Branching Out Unconventionally from Puerto Rican (and Peruvian) Roots

Hear this show now: Pop-up listen Pop-up player! | Add or read comments

Born in Puerto Rico (with Peruvian roots too), Abraham Gomez-Delgado is one of the least conventional and most creative interpreters of the island's musical traditions. Abraham and his superb band Zemog el Gallo Bueno recently released volume 2 of their YoYouMeTú Trilogy, Jugamos With Humanos.
And Zemog has a big gig coming up on Friday night June 10th at 9:30 at Joe's Pub, 425 Lafayette St. in Lower Manhattan.

The Trilogy explores Zemog's search for Afinque - and tonight Abraham will explain just what that means, sample tracks from the trilogy and also put on his guest-DJ hat to share his musical influences and inspirations.

Hello Rob! Give my regards to Aib! A bajillion years ago, we worked together at a now-defunct record store in Harvard Square. And Jayuya, his band at the time, put on some of the most fun shows I've ever attended.
