good morning sem, another cool morning here in the smokies, nestled in and watching the sky get lighter

Sem Chumbo:

Low-ceiling and fog here on the estuary, warm and rainy.. A planting day in the garden. Hiya, duke!
Avatar 6:16am
annie:

yep, sem prefect conditions for gardening. i especially love to weed the beds in a light drizzly rain
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24am
Sem Chumbo:

@annie: that's an earth sign thing, weeding in the rain, I think:-)
Avatar 6:27am
annie:

fwiw, my feet are deeply embedded in Mother. my sign is cancer, water, and still apt i'd say

No argument there, a homebody loves their garden..

i'm sad to report my garlic is not doing well at all.. i think it was the wonky spring. the bulbs are growing slowly and they're attracting too many aphids. ah, me. even the spinach is still 2 inches tall, stagnating. hehe, i'll NEVER stop planting stuff, though. i've truned my sights to bonsai.

It's always something when it comes to growing things, gotta expect the rough with the smooth, in my experience.

in working with all living things, we must be flexible like that, yes. impermanence skittles through our lives unseen and always there.

a bonsai from spruce would be nice with its soft new needles.

Hiya, mauri!

annie:

i actually picked up a sapling of a young pine, which name i forget. it's deciduous and has very fluffy foliage. i'll remember the name some other time. and i'm starting the process on an azalea and a chinese boxwood. also going to try one of the upright fucshias.

sem I wanted to send you an email

I got no plants... except every plant outdoors :)

Cooh John:

Good morning JD and gardening planeteers. Just passed my spring peak with the blooming of the azaleas, dogwood, and redbud. The roses are next.
  7:15am
Cooh John:

Might that be a dawn redwood, annie?
Avatar 7:16am
annie:

the growth habit of the redbud is fascinating.. and i love the clusters of blossoms all up and down the branches and trunk. might have to check out it's lineage.

Loverly sturff DJ JD.
I must say - here in NorthNewEngland we really earn our Spring...altho' the climate's gone all wonky & there's a tendency to just get Winter & Summer...

@mauri: I've enabled the contact feature in my profile. Happy to hear from you.

annie:

yep, uncharacteristically, our spring here has been slow, almost perfect. usually, the heat kicks right in by late april. i'm used to NY climate, so i'm very happy with the cooler temps
