Favoriting Brian Turner: Playlist from May 10, 2016 Favoriting

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

Brian Turner:

Ah, I was invited with short time --- it was a mess with the consulate and hadda keep coming back with new paperwork til finally time ran out even with expedition. There is an experimental festival there I was asked to partake in, but looks like will wait til next year! I would hire an expediter for yr Visa barney if you are in worry.

Tony:

Barney - use a service. It's definitely worth the money. I went to China last year for a work-related event, and really enjoyed it. I left getting the visa until the last minute because of a miscommunication, but they still got it to me before I was supposed to leave. And going to the consulate in person wasn't really an option since it was an 8 hour drive away.

Barney Grubbs:

Thanks! It has been a few years since I got my last one and NYC's just close enough by LIRR that I can't bring myself to use an expediter unless time is really tight. There always seem to be folks getting sent back for additional photocopies, forms, etc., but what they want seems to change over time. But it's nice to have an excuse to head into the city a couple of times, even if it is a hassle.
