Little, for instance, has made me feel less worthy than the next three or four tracks -- all Rwandan ...

@Jill B.: I am on really late at night. My parents crash at like 8pm. It's probably good that they don't listen. There would be so much stuff I would have to explain to them that they would never get. It would make my visits akward.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12pm
Rich in Washington:

This song must be traditional. I know it pops up on at least one Emir Kusturica/Goran Bregovic soundtrack. I think Time of the Gypsies(?).

Gary, i went back to last week's since i didn't hear the first set and only heard bits of the 2nd. Fantastic!! i wish i'd have heard it all "live" so to partake in the interesting stories on the comment board.
but... so much i'd never heard before. 'probably less than a dozen tracks were familiar; and so many great ones.
...i started listening to the Kraftwerk too but didn't get that far yet.
Thanks!

i would just like to point out that as much as i like the music of Indonesia, the music of the assorted parts of the country formerly known as Yugoslavia are also quite cool

i maybe mention this whenever 80's Yugoslavian music come up, but i was pen pals with a guy in Ljublana in about 1981-1982. We traded hardcore punk tapes and everything. And then everything fell apart, and I never heard from him again. i sometimes wonder about that guy, i admit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44pm
coelacanth:

i would too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45pm
Gary:

Damn, Hyde ... if you remember his name and he's still around, maybe he's on Facebook?
  9:47pm
slawooy:

i used to play with guys who still have a band called Popecitelji and they're raw energy trio .. arses in serbia's main media dont like them for their folk elements...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50pm
Doug Schulkind:

@Hyde
Was that fellow Lutajuci D.J. Zdena?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55pm
Doug Schulkind:

Oops, never mind. Zdena is from Croatia.
Avatar 9:57pm
hyde:

being a broken down old man, i'd need to find our actual correspondence to confirm the guy's name, and i think maybe all of that is just lost in the sands of time. but that's what happens right? strands are woven and unpulled. i tend to just simply hope it all worked out ok for him.

thanks Gary!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm
coelacanth:

Thank you Gary!
...another one to revisit.
'till then folks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02pm
