Tornado warnings, earthquakes...looks like perhaps this evenings storms are whipping up again here too! Leak in the roof has exposed itself!

Ah, well. That's the ONE thing we didn't get inspected (and that needs fixing). Ha! Always the way when you buy a new pad.
Avatar 7:34pm
Julea:

That is the way it goes. We've got to get a new roof at some point.

Gotta love this Kay Adams record; one of my favorites!

My troubles are much less than Kay's right now. This is also one of my faves of hers. <3

Same here. :) We are shooting for a January interview with her on the show by the way! I think she is ready to talk about stuff. :)

I just found a copy of this Howard Crockett on Wine-O Records the other day, called "The Law and Me." My other copy is on "Stop," called "The Law Says."

Leona is working on moving back to Nashville; I talked with her on Sunday. Want to get her on the show too. One of my New Year's resolutions is to get more visitors on the show.
Avatar 7:51pm
Julea:

Three cheers for Greg! Any chance you might be able to swing coming down for his benefit next weekend Debbie? :)

Julea:

This song always reminds me of an old boyfriend I had who would tell me he was going out to get cigarettes, then disappear for 5-6 hours. I would drive around looking for him in the middle of the night, then one night I found him. Glad I don't have to deal with that anymore.
Avatar 8:06pm
Debbie D.:

F that!! This sounds like a good beer drinkin' song.
Avatar 8:07pm
Julea:

It's a great beer drinking song!
Avatar 8:07pm
Debbie D.:

I couldn't work out a trip to Atlanta for Greg's benefit. Wish I had a magic wand.
Avatar 8:07pm
Julea:

I've got another good beer drinking song coming up after this one!
Avatar 8:08pm
Julea:

Wish I had one too!

Melba Montgomery had the perfect husky country voice.
Avatar 8:14pm
Julea:

She sure does, doesn't she? If a jar of home made maple syrup could sing country songs, I think it would sound just like Melba Montgomery.

Rich Z.:

Have you ever done a show on Bakersfield country? Stuff like the FarmerBoys would be cool.
Avatar 8:16pm
Julea:

That would be very cool. I usually just do a smorgasboard of all sorts of things, but some focus shows would be cool. I looove Bakersfield. Farmer Boys are fantastic.
Avatar 8:17pm
Julea:

Bear Family made some cool compilations called "The Other Side Of Bakersfield." I think there are two volumes. I like both of them very much.
Avatar 8:17pm
glenn:

huh. were those crack cigarettes, or bourbon cigarettes?
Avatar 8:17pm
glenn:

bear family is god. and priced that way, too.
Avatar 8:18pm
Julea:

Both Glenn, and then some!
Avatar 8:19pm
Julea:

Yes indeed. I am on the lookout for a Bill Woods "Live At The Blackboard" Bear Family cd. I want it bad, but I can't find a copy anywhere.
  8:20pm
Rich Z.:

I have heard that comp. it's great. You tube sometimes posts that stuff. Cheaper!
Avatar 8:21pm
Julea:

Indeed! I've heard pieces of it on youtube, but I want the whole thang.
Avatar 8:22pm
glenn:

i have a few bear family things, hank snow, ernest tubb, and the louvin brothers box, which is the best thing ever. next to the howlin' wolf box set on chess, anyway
Avatar 8:23pm
Julea:

Oh man. That all sounds great.
Avatar 8:23pm
