Founded on the mission of creating an album in a weekend, 29 Hour Music People is a loose collective of musicians fronted by Rob Christiansen. As they describe their process, the collective "brainstorms lyrics on Friday, writes and records music on Saturday, sings direct to tape, no AutoTune, on Sunday, and returns to normal life with their other bands on Monday, before anyone notices they have been missing. 29 Hour Music People's just released 3rd album, "Transportation," benefits Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and they visit Irene's show to play some of their songs live.

That bit of Eno...where the steel guitar part begins...always sends a prickly chill. One of those perfect moments when you are at a bar watching some unknown band. Good beer in hand. You glance across the crowd and catch a pretty girl looking straight into your eyes.
  9:45pm
JakeGould:

“You glance across the crowd and catch a pretty girl looking straight into your eyes.” She elbows the person standing next to her and mouths “That’s the guy!” and they both stare at you while slowly moving out of the bar, the friend on her phone shaking while they both poke the bouncer and he looks at you and starts walking your way.

thanks for making the joke faster than i can type.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50pm
Dave in Vermont:

"...the bouncer and he looks at you and starts walking your way." You down your beer. And shimmy back and forth moving up through the crowd and find a tall guy. Stand between him and the band, try to get lost in that aching steel guitar.

Good evening Irene. Your guests are impressive

JakeGould:

“Stand between him and the band, try to get lost in that aching steel guitar.” You chill out and get into the music when you notice the bassist looking towards the crowd but past you, squinting their eyes. They are looking at someone a few rows back, they nod and then continue to play. but this time scanning the crowd as if distracted until they lock on your eyes, flash back to the crowd past you, nod their head, and point their chin towards you.

I thought I was a Laurie Anderon fan. I heard a song from her latest album/soundtrack on Irene's show. I ended up buying the soundtrack, then watched the film at a theater.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38pm
coelacanth:

"...nod their head, and point their chin towards you." you know you should just leave, but the music. ahh,the music. you reluctantly decide, but you're trapped between two tall people.
suddenly there's a hand on your shoulder and, sweating, you turn; but it's not the bouncer. it's Joanna Newsom. she thinks you're someone else...
