damn it's sad when i'm first.

visuals for this evening: www.nicolasvsanchez.com
  12:10am
jeff-m:

that was really beautiful (first song)
  12:13am
rich:

yes, as it says on the back of the record: "All sounds created using the human voice layered onto a series of reel to reel decks specially manipulated and looped by IWC."
  12:18am
JakeGould:

Fourths!
  12:20am
rich:

someone needs to declare thirds! first before that's official jake. good morning.
Avatar 12:25am
fleep:

Thirds? No thanks, I'm stuffed.

The photorealism bits mixed into the impressionism and outright abstraction make the Sanchez stuff really arresting to the eye.
  12:27am
Bklyn kid:

It's all underground to me! And I like it.
  12:36am
rw:

Sixths.
  12:37am
rw:

Or eights or ninths. I'm not sure how we're counting here.
  12:39am
rw:

Enjoying the Carcass regardless.
  12:45am
Bklyn kid:

Im enjoying the underground industrial broadcast, or whatever Freeform wonderment this is! Thank you Rich.
  12:47am
Rich Hazelton:

rw sixths is correct; if the commenter following the first rw comment is another different rw then that rw is sevenths otherwise they remain sixths.
  12:55am
Bklyn kid:

nrbq live on Bob Brainen! perfection.

Bill C:

I missed Carcass?
  1:18am
rich:

nope
  1:19am
rw:

Watching short films is so much more fun than working. It's also fun to try to synch the radio with the Vimeo stream.
  1:28am
JakeGould:

Okay, I need to stop what I am doing to watch “Begone Dull Care 2015.”
  1:29am
JakeGould:

Okay… I like the chiptune music more than the visuals. No disrespect.
  1:31am
MONEYBAG$:

In the words of Father Dougal MacGuire: "Ted...I'm going mad"
  1:31am
rich:

yeah so do i. i kind of got the homage to norman mclaren but didn't think it worked as well as the music did
  1:32am
JakeGould:

@rich: The music is great. Gonna play a Mr. Do game to this.
  1:35am
rw:

I liked the visuals.
  1:36am
JakeGould:

@rw: Then we are going to have to agree to disagree.
  1:45am
rw:

It's cool. Agreed.
  2:12am
JakeGould:

The best, long lasting aspect of “Life Aquatic” is Seu Jorge.
  2:19am
rw:

Rich, I need to cut out. Thanks for another evening of superb radio!
Good night, kids!
  2:19am
rich:

agreed, that movie annoyed me and i like most of wes anderson's other movies
  2:23am
JakeGould:

@rich: To be fair, I really, really liked “Rushmore” but when Wes Anderson decided being “twee” for all his films was a thing… Forget it… Edgy “Lifetime Channel” dramas with cute sets.
  2:33am
rich:

disagree moonrise kingdom is pretty charming the kid actors are good and edward norton as the scout leader is a lot of fun and the grand budapest hotel has some really great moments though it's basically bottle rocket with a really large budget and ralph fiennes in a really good role
  2:39am
JakeGould:

@rich: Forgot about “Moonrise Kingdom” but you are correct… The kids make that film work with his style. Anyway, we like something so hey!
  2:55am
rich:

have a good week all and an enjoyable thanksgiving
