Drummer Eve Sicular is the leader of two of NYC's finest klezmer outfits, Metropolitan Klezmer and Isle of Klezbos.
She's also the creator of the musical-documentary-theatre extravaganza J. Edgar Klezmer: Songs from My Grandmother's FBI Files.
Tonight Eve will share some of her favorite Yiddish / Jewish recordings - as well as introducing new albums by both of her stellar bands.

Your next chance to see Isle of Klezbos live is Friday, September 25th, 9:30 pm at 54 Below, the Broadway Supper Club at 254 West 54th St.

The next NYC gig by Metropolitan Klezmer is the City Winery Klezmer Brunch, 155 Varick St., in lower Manhattan, Sunday morning November 15th, 11 am to 2 pm.

And you can see J. Edgar Klezmer at the Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck, NY (Westchester County) on Saturday night December 5th at 8 pm.

TICKET GIVEAWAYS TONIGHT!

We have one pair of tickets available to see Os Mutantes, the Brazilian Tropicalia-era band that has reunited in recent years, at Le Poisson Rouge, 158 Bleecker Street. in lower Manhattan, this Tuesday night (September 15th). Doors open at 7 pm, show starts at 8 pm.

We also have up to five pairs of tickets to see acclaimed Mexican style brass band Banda Sinaloense de los Muertos celebrate the release of its debut album, performing with opening band, the all-female Mariachi Flor de Toloache, at Pioneer Works, 159 Pioneer Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn this Friday night (September 18th). Listed start time is 7 pm.

To enter the drawing for a pair of tickets, email me, Rob W, here and please put "TIX" in the subject line. Indicate which concert you're interested in - or if both, indicate first and second choice. The deadline to enter is Sunday, September 13th at midnight.
