Ha! Cheyenne sent me a link to this song because it basically describes my job.

It describes many of our jobs, @Jeff. Haha!

Poor HitchBOT, too beautiful for this world.

This may very well have been the music T. Pynchon listened to while writing Bleeding Edge.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm
Liz Berg:

Haven't read Bleeding Edge... should I?
Avatar 12:43pm
Cheyenne:

That entire Now Age comp is so smoove
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm
SeanG:

yeah be here now!
Avatar 12:45pm
Polk Biggins:

@Liz Hmmm. Excellent question (that I was not prepared for). If you have enjoyed Pynchon in the past then yes. Edge is sort of an updated (digitized?) Elmore Leonard-style tale. All manner of various web-based diversions and rabbit holes.

Kurt Vile playing live on my show next week, btw!
Avatar 12:52pm
steve:

for what its worth Bleeding Edge is the only Pynchon book i enjoyed enough to finish. that's high praise from someone who rarely reads novels and has the attention span of a goldfish.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Kurt Vile should be pretty good. Thanks already for that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm
Liz Berg:

Ha ha, that's a great endorsement, steve! Managed to make it though Gravity's Rainbow, so I should be good with Bleeding Edge.
Avatar 12:57pm

wow liz, finishing Gravity's Rainbow is a major achievement! i am in awe.

weirdest thing of recent memory - ran into someone i went to highschool with (and haven't heard from since, 15+ years) at Monty Hall this past weekend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
Liz Berg:

That's crazy, Steve! Monty Hall has special powers...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
Greg from ZONE 5:

WOW. I tried tapping into Gravity's Rainbow last summer. I thought "How hard can it be? It's long, but it's still just a book..." I was so wrong. It is so not a book at all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm
Liz Berg:

Reading Gravity's Rainbow may be the mental equivalent of donating an organ.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm
Greg from ZONE 5:

Spot on, LB. After the fact I was on all these sites that give you advice on how to read it. I could spend the equivalent amount of time training to run a marathon, you know...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm
Liz Berg:

Anyone gonna watch the GOP debate this week?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm

I just don't have the heart.

Also, hes pretty awesome, his youtube mostly sucks though. I asked him if he had anything better and he said "Go to my shows!"
Which is perfectly reasonable.

There are like 1,000 'shoegazey' bands out there now, but No Joy sound really good, from that one song anyway. Touring this fall, I may want to attend.

@Polyus: Have you heard of “Flyying Colours?” They are pretty good and shoegazey: flyyingcolours.bandcamp.com

So true about playing cassettes! I am guilty of the same, thinking, "I'm sure that's really good"... then walk right passed it.

@Jake - thanks for the tip.
