Just yesterday I stumbled upon singer and researcher Joan O'Bryant who has two Folkways albums in the late 50. Really nice folk songs - just her voice and guitar and it reminded me on Myriam Gendron's "Not so deep as a well" and lost singer-songwriter Connie Converse. So if that rings some bells, check her out.

Oh, and another tip of the hat to Mike Sin, who always does such a polished job on these live sets.

Stuart Rose:

What a talented songwriter and singer.
The songs are heartfelt, unpretentious, and yet there are these sophisticated musical and lyrical touches nicely threaded in.

And she has such a delightful girlish modesty and whimsy.
