I gotta get to The Brighton Bar gig - what a triple bill!
1:46pm Taylor from Dallas in Denton Now:

Dear Joe Belock,

The last time I listened live was the first time I commented, and that was almost two years ago on the day I graduated high school. It's been peaks and valleys since I went to college. I learned that books without pictures are dope, and that Faulkner guy was no slouch. I also learned how irritating the college music scene in North Texas can be, and frequently have nightmares about dudes in bowler hats with waxed up mustaches. This radio program was the most reliable thing in my life in high school and I love it more than my parents or girlfriend and will probably love it more than my first born.

All best,
Taylor
  1:47pm Bluesman:

Joe, not sure if you or any of your listeners read Shindig! Magazine but the late breaking news is, according to its creators/editors/idea men/layout-ers, their magazine has been the subject of a "hostile takeover" by the publisher (Volcano), which has "re-branded the magazine under the "Kaleidoscope" name. Any thoughts? Or remain neutral on the subject? Editor-in-chief Jon Mills has asked for a call-to-arms for support to re-establish Shindig! once the the smoke clears. Doesnt sound like much, if any, of the writing staff will side with the new version.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Jeff from Rahway:

Ultimate Painting put on a fab gig @ the Mercury Lounge last month, BTW.
Avatar 1:51pm Joe B:

Thanks Taylor, wow. appreciate it!

Blues, sorry to hear about that. i don't follow that mag but know of it. yeah feel free to use this space to spread the word.
  1:58pm Maura:

I just fell in love with Ultimate Painting, and then Joe played my favorite Reigning Sound song! Not bad for a Monday.
  1:59pm Bluesman:

Cool. Well the word is that any readers/enjoyers/subscribers of Shindig!, if'n they care, should hit the FB site for further details.
  2:00pm Sissophonic Cheryl:

Ultimate Painting are great.
  2:04pm KP:

Keep on!
2:08pm Taylor from Dallas in Denton Now:

Ahh I just saw Dengue Fever on the 7th, looking forward to that Cambodia Rock fill-in
Avatar 2:23pm Joe B:

should be a great one!

hey KP!
Avatar 2:24pm Claw!:

Haha... This song is funny. :)
Avatar 🎸 2:25pm David Shortell:

Shonen Knife are playing with C.J. Ramone at the Brighton Bar on June 20.
Avatar 2:25pm DeemerDave:

Nice to hear Jonathan Coulton. Thanks Joe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Mike East:

holy shit, I went to Ikea for the first time yesterday, and NEVER AGAIN. What a freakin nightmare. Got so lost and by the time we got to the warehouse where the have the "self serve" items, we found out that they didn't have the piece we were looking for.
  2:30pm SeanG:

cool tune--dude can still write tunes
2:37pm Taylor from Dallas in Denton Now:

The labyrinth aspect of IKEA is what I find so appealing about it
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:38pm Jeff from Rahway:

Hah my gf who is an Ikea coworker said that Ikea has enough customers, Mike ;-)
  2:39pm blah blah:

Dave's on sale again.
Avatar 🎸 2:43pm David Shortell:

Here's a crazy thing about last Thursday's Sonics show:
For a couple days prior, a sign outside Jack's Music Shoppe informed people they had free tickets for anyone who asked. But Tim says he couldn't even GIVE them away!
  2:44pm geokopp:

Hey Jeff, my wife is an Ikea co-worker too. Marcia, lighting manager. Yeah, that place is not for amateur shoppers.
Avatar 2:45pm V Priceless:

@ Dave Shortell" : wow, that is absolutely mind-boggling!!
  2:47pm jahna:

Took a little doing to get the pop up player to work on my computer at work. Someone messed up my settings. Got it done finally! Well, at least I get to listen for the next 15 minutes.
  2:48pm SHIMMY:

gotta love that schweetzer doootch!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Mike East:

@Jeff - I've put together plenty of their furniture in the past and have been pleased, but usually its my wife who goes to the actual store to get the stuff. Big warehouse stores in general freak me out and I stay away from them, but the maze aspect was way too intense for me. Didn't help that my wife and I got split up and I didn't have my phone with me and my two year old was in a bit of a mood.
Avatar 2:52pm V Priceless:

swell show, Joe - thanks!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Jeff from Rahway:

@Mike, we'll escort you on your next shopping trip. It will cost you one serving of Ikea meatballs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm blee:

I'm digging on this Marmalade. Perfect tune for a blue sky no cloud day.
Avatar 2:57pm Joe B:

thanks everybody for listening and commenting! appreciate it!
Avatar 2:58pm Claw!:

Great, great stuff Joe. Thanks! Til next week...
  9:06am John W.:

I have become a fan over the past year. This show has the best intro. Is there a way to hear "Rock Music Report"? Also, I miss Tuesday Rock City
