Hoo boy, y'all and Brian Turner have summoned forth some mighty prizes this year. Good luck and good hunting!
  11:59am
Peter:

Are the prizes listed somewhere?
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 12:00pm
listener james from westwood:

Damn, I always get chills at this track. Just the opening loop alone. Stone classic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:00pm
Jeff Golick:

Feeling good now that you're here, @listener james!
Avatar 12:00pm
Jeff J:

Hey Listener James! We've got some impressive goodies to unload, for sure.
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 12:00pm

good afternoon!

@Peter: If you take a peek at the webpage, they're in the form of a rotating series of GIFs.
Avatar 12:00pm
Jeff J:

Peter - Some of the prizes can be seen as GIFs on the playlist. We'll be announcing them as well.
Avatar 12:01pm

Afternoon Andrew - good to see you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01pm
Jeff Golick:

Afternoon, @Andrew Waterloo!
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 12:05pm

I sent some coin pre-Marathon and selected all the GTDR shows to share in it; didn't want the credit card co's destroying my smaller pledges over the course of 2 weeks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm
Jeff Golick:

YES YES, @ljfw! THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Avatar 12:10pm
Jeff J:

Sounds like a wise move @ljfw - and thanks!
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 12:11pm
Andrew Waterloo:

James, what you can do is assign your smaller pledges to be billed later, and after the marathon it's just like filling out a larger pledge.
Avatar 12:12pm
Jeff J:

$20 pledge (or more) gets you in the running to win a copy of this amazing Annette Peacock CD! Been OOP for year and a longtime favorite of ours. Believe me, your odds are good of winning right now.
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 12:15pm
Andrew Waterloo:

Definitely interested in hearing about the GTDR premiums this year.
Avatar 12:15pm
Jeff J:

A big THANK YOU TO @Andrew Waterloo for the pledge! We appreciate the support.

Andrew Waterloo:

This Annette Peacock is pretty awesome
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
listener james from westwood:

@Andrew, you are correct. But I always bollix the bookkeeping on my side. Too much to wrap my limited math skills around. I don't know if previous versions of the Marathon pledge form permitted the multi-show split on one pledge, so when I spotted it I said, hell, let's let everyone wet their beaks.
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 12:29pm
Andrew Waterloo:

I just keep a spreadsheet :)

Likely the smartest way to go! I'd be nowhere without my thicket of Excel files surrounding me in cyberspace.

Hey @hollandoats! Thanks for joining us.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm

There's a youtube vid of Last Exit out there with one of the better comments under it. Simply sez "more cocaine"
Avatar 12:36pm
Jeff J:

$20 pledge gets you in the running to win this Last Exit cd - one of their best! And your odds of winning are extremely good. Also on the prize block, Annette Peacock's "I Belong To A World That's Destroying Itself."
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 12:39pm

Yah, I've been using Google Sheets simply because I can read and update them anywhere
Avatar 12:42pm

THANK YOU to Listener Dean for his generous pledge! We appreciate the support!
Avatar 12:43pm

Just a few minutes to get in the drawing for Last Exit and Annette Peacock. A $20 pledge ALSO gets you in the running for our Grand Prize - 9 CDs from Relative Pitch!

Dean:

My pleasure. It's a reflex response to Sharrock and Brotzmann.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm
Doug Schulkind:

I once saw Don Pullen dislocate a finger mid-performance. He winced, stopped for a moment to yank it back into place, then kept playing.
  12:46pm
Dean:

Sounds like a set-up for a joke. "Pull-en my finger..."
  12:47pm
Dean:

(Apologies. Almost everything sounds to me like a set-up for a joke.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm

THANK YOU for your generous pledges!

Jeff J:

Our next prize that we'll be giving away is ACID MOTHERS TEMPLE & MELTING UFO's "Son of a Bitches Brew." A jazz-psych monster-piece. For $20 pledge, you're in the running for that. And our grand prize.
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 12:58pm
listener james from westwood:

w00t! Go pledgers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm
Doug Schulkind:

We've all lost connection with Jeff Golick in Brooklyn. But the borough has NOT been hit with a giant meteor (or is it meteorite?) Just talked to him on the phone. He is rebooting his modem and will try to reconnect.
  1:02pm
Dean:

Modem? Seriously?
Avatar 1:02pm
Jeff J:

@Dean - We are nothing if not high tech here! We're also replacing the duct tape - that often does the trick.
Avatar 1:04pm
Jeff J:

Your pledges to WFMU help us upgrade the technology! Just another reason to give... $20 gets you in the running for some prizes you have a high probability of winning. $75 get you a copy of our premium of Monk tunes from the brilliant corners of the musical universe - plus FMU swag. And enters you into the grand prize drawing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm

Bright side: The stream's offerings have been quite effective in getting me through a sluggish day of Daylight Saving Time fatigue.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm
Doug Schulkind:

The Internet is completely out in Jeff G's apartment. Possibly the melting snows have drowned the Verizon box in the backyard. He is calling neighbors to see if he can mooch Wifi.

I'm not kidding.
Avatar 1:12pm
Jeff J:

Lovely tunes on the stream for sure, Listener James.
THANK YOU to everyone for hanging with us.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm
Doug Schulkind:

Amazingly, NOT ONE person has turned off the show since we lost the connection. Or at least a new person has stepped up for everyone who jumped.
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 1:13pm
listener james from westwood:

Yikes! It's those fiends at NPR. They just don't like being shown how to raise money with style and grace.
Avatar 1:15pm

We'll start working on our "NPR sabotage" show, @ljfw. Those cads!
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 1:17pm

I can hear Joe and Todd on the WFMU stream, so that aspect of things is running OK.
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 1:18pm

Actually I can hear Todd WITHOUT tuning in. Man can project!
Avatar 1:18pm

Operation: Brooklyn Wi-Fi Mooch is in process. Fingers crossed we'll be back shortly.
Avatar 1:20pm

One way or another, we WILL give away from prizes from the first part of the show.

I have to run to work. Should be interesting considering that last night, I knocked over a 15-foot-tall tower of pallets that crashed into an electrical fixture and knocked out the lighting in half the stockroom. Good times!
