Hey now Charlie. And hi annie. I'm not a strong swimmer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55am listener james from westwood:

Apropos to your email and playlist, I will be in the shower for the first minutes of the program. All hail the mobile app!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am Jeff Golick:

I'm here for the Cheetos.

Where are the Cheetos?
Avatar 11:59am ndbob:

Avatar 12:01pm annie:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02pm Mike East:

puffy or crunchy, Jeff?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:03pm Jeff Golick:

I'm feeling pretty punchy, if possible, Mike.
Avatar 12:04pm still b/p:

Was that the version from Follow the Fleet or from somewhere else?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm Charlie:

Hi all!
Avatar 12:04pm still b/p:

Never mind, playlist knows all, tells all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm Charlie:

still b/p: the recordings on that album are from studio recordings separate from the films
Avatar 12:05pm Holly in NC:

Good afternoon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm Mike East:

Ok, Jeff. I'll see what I have in the pantry...there should be a large can of Hawaiian Punch left from the 80's in there.
Avatar 12:06pm still b/p:

Ah, thanks....thought it sounded like it might be that sorta studio thing.
  12:11pm jan:

hear here.
Avatar 12:16pm still b/p:

Chipmunk track makes me repost Bagdasarian trivia that I thought was particularly interesting, connection-and-surprise-wise: he co-wrote the song Come On a My House with his cousin, writer William Saroyan. And he had a role as one of the neighbors providing snoopertainment for Jimmy Stewart in the movie Rear Window.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm Charlie:

today, that's Come On-a My HouseBoat, still b/p
thanks for the trivia!
Avatar 12:19pm ndbob:

@b/p knew about Come On a My House but not about his part in The Rear Window
Avatar 12:20pm Roberto:

Woohoo it's Charlie!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Dominick:

Me feel so broke up

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm listener james from westwood:

Oooh, this is a fave.
Avatar 12:25pm still b/p:

Dominick...THAT is a hoot, enough to make mermaids throw shell-bras and tail scales on the deck.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Artie Haywire:

I'm all wet (but happy).
Avatar 12:40pm northguineahills:

Holy crap, this my old friend's band from FL (Philistines Jr.). Haven't heard them in over 15 years.
Avatar 12:40pm Roberto:

Is this a Billy Joel cover?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm Charlie:

NGH: I'm a big fan of that record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm listener james from westwood:

I'm a big fan of this Hues Corp. record!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm Alex In Illinois:

When I was a kid, we would dance to this and during the chorus, we would act like we were on a boat that is rocking.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm Uncle Michael:

We should institute a buddy system if we're going down to the pool.
Avatar 12:56pm northguineahills:

I'm impressed that I recognized this as Paul Robeson. I own nothing by him, and have only heard Old Man River by him. Distinctive voice, I know.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm Mike East:

ha! I just listened to a new Screaming Females track yesterday called Wishing Well, and started singing this song in my head.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm Charlie:

I heard you Mike East.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm Charlie:

That Hues Corp song deserved to be a big hit. Amazing arrangement, enthusiasm, catchiness.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm Dominick:

Charlie, I thought it was.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm Charlie:

Yes it was, I just meant it was deserving of its success.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm Dominick:

Indeed
Avatar 1:05pm northguineahills:

I got this Eno/Cale album shortly after HS. It took a good decade before I was able to appreciate it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Dominick:

Yes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Parq:

Anything with Amy Allison is always welcome.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm listener james from westwood:

I was in a car when I first heard Amy A. Think it was on Laura Cantrell's show. I had to pull over. Was that blown away.
Avatar 1:21pm still b/p:

What do you suppose the simple metal percussion item was in that Clementine? I'm guessing it was some barn or garage or kitchen hardware, and not off the music store shelf.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm Charlie:

Agreed about Amy A.
and dig found percussion and other instruments.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm Uncle Michael:

Blind Melon Chitlin's inspiration?
Avatar 1:32pm Lewis:

is this actually little Davy Jones? - pretty cool actually...
Avatar 1:33pm still b/p:

It's Mickey. Just a moment ago I was thinking about a local Clash of the Titans live covers match-up that had Beach Boys vs. Monkees, and as I said at the time, it wasn't a fair fight. Today I wondered if Beach Boys vs. Four Season might've been a better contest, and No Surfin' Today woulda been a fun diss to include.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm Charlie:

Micky Dolenz, actually.
Avatar 1:35pm Lewis:

Thanks @still b/p
Avatar 1:35pm Lewis:

Thanks Charlie!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Doug Schulkind:

I always loved James and Bobby Purify's version of this number. Purified water!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Charlie:

Hi Gaylord! Don't worry, if you start to go down, I'll throw you a lifesaver.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm doctorjazz:
