G'mornin', DJ Jherweg.
  3:04am
Kafuka:

Welcome back jon. Good morning
Avatar 3:05am
Jherweg:

Hey there fellas, did you miss me?
  3:08am
P-90:

Glad you're back, you "own" this slot now. Forget about a regular sleep routine, that's a thing of the past Dude.
  3:09am
ik€:

Damn, I wish I could tune in but this weird foreign computer doesn't seem to have a sound card or maybe just no speakers. And the Z and the Y are swapped.
Avatar 3:11am
Jherweg:

I guess me and my swollen heart will just get on with the show every week then .
Where are you IKE? Out of town ?
  3:17am
i~k~e:

Zeah, I am in Berrrrlin, not as lovely as Amsterdam but prettz interesting. Being rushed out of here by circumstances though, onto Leipzig briefly... gotta run!
  3:19am
Kafuka:

We missed our dj, even if micah was ok
Avatar 3:19am
Jherweg:

You're probably not as stoned as you would be either.

Morning, everybody. Nice to tune in just in time for Letha

Just when you thought you never would hear the grateful dead on my show, you hear the grateful dead on my show.
Avatar 3:28am
Jherweg:

Morning Thomas!

Another one you might like is called infrared roses
Avatar 3:39am
BEAVO:

I don't know what shows you went to but nobody ever had to go to the parking lot to smoke a joint certainly not during Dark star.
Avatar 3:40am
BEAVO:

I mean they wouldn't let you back in if you left.
  3:41am
Ignore Function:

So sad to hear about Letha. I never met her but I saw Ruby Falls years ago and met Dan, one of my favorite musicians. I'm glad I gave them a little bit of money.
  3:41am
P-90:

@Jherweg: Like you, I'm a bit of a "peripheral" Dead fan. But to my Deadhead friends in California, the people who walked out on "Drums/Space" to use the bathroom, socialize, get a snack, etc, were "amateurs." I agreed of course, that's a part of the show like the rest of it. Remixes may be the vehicle for a lot of folks to get into the Dead in the future, the possibilities are intriguing...
Avatar 3:45am
Jherweg:

I went to two dead shows, where there was a mass exodus during the instrumental interludes, It left me scratching my head.
Avatar 3:52am
Jherweg:

I never met Letha Either , but i know she was great friends with lots of folks here at the station. Handbook for mortals is one of my favorite albums. It's very sad.
  3:53am
Ignore Function:

I went to a lot of Dead shows in High School and I don't regret it at all even though I never listen to them now.
Avatar 3:56am
BEAVO:

That just sounds odd as most of their shows were instrumental iinterludes and definitely not the norm. No different from any other large concert except the clothing.
Avatar 4:01am
BEAVO:

I guess it's like people leave to get a beer during an artists new material. The real deadheads would never leave during drums/space
Avatar 4:04am
BEAVO:

Good show by the way JH
Avatar 4:07am
Jherweg:

I wouldn't begrudge anyone's love for the Dead or any other music they were passionate about , I just never got it well enough to join the cult, and I lived with a lot of insufferable self righteous hippies at a time in my youth when i was going through a punk rock phase, so its been a slow and estranged appreciation for the music, I'm glad I've kept and open mind. Thanks....

Bayta:

Hey everyone, guess who's back?
Avatar 4:09am
Bayta:

Never listened to the dead. Should I?
Avatar 4:13am
Bayta:

I should listen to more from this Suchy dude.
Avatar 4:15am
Jherweg:

This guy turned a wooden Canoe into a string instrument, pretty amazing, a conceptual art, performance art music piece is what you're listening too Bayta.
Avatar 4:17am
Bayta:

That's really cool. I liked it well enough for its own sake, but the back story makes it even more interesting. Thank you.
Avatar 4:18am
Bayta:

Nice transition there.

agree..

Love this solar collector
  4:25am
P-90:

I can dig it, canoe?
Avatar 4:26am
Bayta:

Second the love for that solar collector track
Avatar 4:31am
Bayta:

That's strangely prescient of you to pay that particular poem at this particular time. Spooky even.
Avatar 4:36am
Jherweg:

Spooksville. To hear Frost read his own words is so powerful.
Avatar 4:38am
Bayta:

Phone's running out of juice. Gonna have to catch the rest in the archives. I've missed wfmu and this show. Hopefully I can get back to listening live again regularly soon albeit from a different corner of the globe. Have a good rest of the show and day/night everyone!
Avatar 4:40am
Bayta:

Before I go, is it just me or does this riff remind anyone else of la novia?
Avatar 4:42am
Bayta:

Or perhaps another AMT track? Not anymore but before the vocals came in..
Avatar 4:43am
Jherweg:

Check you later Bayta.
