Hey hey Brother Marcury!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 5:46pm listener james from westwood:

Good Tuesday, Doug and all!
Neil just got news that a rat done bit his sister Nell.
  5:46pm marcury:

How goes it Dougo?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48pm Doug Schulkind:

@LJFW
Nell Armstrong. Perfect!

@marcury
I need a job.
  5:48pm marcury:

Oh Yeah! And I can't pay no doctor bills.
Avatar 5:49pm Holly in NC:

Ola!

Yesterday marked 70th anniversary of Anne Frank's capture/arrest/last diary entry. Spent a lot of time revisting her diary, and grieving.
  5:49pm marcury:

@ Doug, I'd hire you in a minute.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Doug Schulkind:

@Holly in NC
The community of ears is open arms for you.

@marcury
Not in a second? What am I, chicken liver? (Mmmmm, chicken liver!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm davex:

Hey Doug and early commenters!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm Doug Schulkind:

Top o' the evening, davex!
  5:51pm marcury:

mmmmm.... chopped liver...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Doug Schulkind:

The Sun City Girls track that's playing on the stream right now is 34 minutes long! It feels sacrilegious to cut it off only 7 minutes in. PLEASE DON'T TELL THE BISHOPS!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm davex:

I was just going to comment on liking this track. Oops, just cut out while I was writing this...
Avatar 5:56pm Holly in NC:

mmm... chicken liver..............
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm Doug Schulkind:

With our vegetarian daughter away at summer camp, me the Mrs. have been eating a whole lotta meat.
Avatar 5:58pm ndbob:

evening Doug and everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59pm Doug Schulkind:

Hello to you, ndbob!
Avatar 5:59pm Holly in NC:

Anyone who eats pizza & is adventurous should try a tomato sauce-based pizza topped with fried chicken livers & capers. Yes. Yes, you should.

Oh god, I want one.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:01pm listener james from westwood:

Wasn't "Whole Lotta Meat" the second Dread Zeppelin album?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm Doug Schulkind:

Did you say that because you know I make pizza for the family every Friday night. Holly? I'm even making my own dough now, too.
  6:04pm marcury:

mmmmmm..... Chicken Liver and Capers
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:04pm listener james from westwood:

Your pizza fu is strong!
Avatar 6:05pm Holly in NC:

@Doug - I do know your Friday tradition, but wasn't thinking of it at the moment :-) Sure do hope I inspired you!

Heh. I thought you said "Luna" frenzy. Hugs to Luna!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05pm Doug Schulkind:

What is pizza fu? Is it anything like pizza feng shui?

LUNA FRIENDSY!
  6:08pm Dean:

Add some honey to the dough.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm Doug Schulkind:

The lyrics: weeniecampbell.com...
Avatar 6:08pm Holly in NC:

The chickens I am caring for are a hot mess. All are molting, and the eldest is broody (and brooding), and being attacked by the bratty younger hens.

Who knew chickens could engender such drama?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm Doug Schulkind:

Chickens + hot mess = fried livers and capers!
  6:10pm Dean:

The Chicken Pizza Caper.
Avatar 6:10pm Holly in NC:

I am so mad at the younger hens, I am tempted...no, no I am not :-) BAD chicken sitter.

But poor Buffy is so sad...
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:10pm listener james from westwood:

A friend of mine who taught himself to make pizza after finding Indianapolis pizza subpar met with some poor pizza feng shui when he aligned the ready-to-bake pie face down with the floor of the oven while sliding it in. The smoke alarm responded with the song of its people.
Avatar 6:12pm Holly in NC:

@ljfw - Ouch! I feel for your friend.
Avatar 6:14pm ndbob:

wow James
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:15pm listener james from westwood:

It was either too enthusiastic a shove with the peel, or too much semolina under the pie reducing the friction. Either way, nasty stuff. When he returned permanently from IN, the first place he met us all was at a NJ brick-oven pizzeria.
Avatar 6:16pm ndbob:

this is great!
Avatar 6:17pm ndbob:

The pizza here is OK - certainly far better then in Jamestown - only choices were Pizza Hut and Domino's
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm Doug Schulkind:

Ed Sanders turns 75 on August 17!
Avatar 6:18pm Holly in NC:

Johnnie Cas- er, Howard = *great* song.

Totally off topic (surprise) - dog I'm currently sitting, Perky, smells excactly like a fresh corn tortilla. He really, really does, I so wish we had smellorama on the board.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:22pm Gary:

Fugs-gedaboudit!
Avatar 6:23pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Album title: "Our vegetarian daughter"
  6:24pm marcury:

Happy Birthday Ed! A friend of mine is trying to get him up here to perform.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm Doug Schulkind:

Don't worry, Kenzo. We will never eat our daughter!
Avatar 6:24pm ndbob:

as Sun Ra stops on the moon on the way to Saturn
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25pm Doug Schulkind:

I had about 20 Sun Ra tracks with "Moon" in the title to choose from.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm Doug Schulkind:

A fellow named Emmanuel Ghent will be on "electronics" on the next selection. He is not the leader of the group, however.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:30pm listener james from westwood:

Hello to Holly's corn (tortilla) dog!
Avatar 6:31pm Holly in NC:

@ljfw - :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm Doug Schulkind:

I hope that corndog ain't allergic to grain. Cause it is surely having many a taste.
Avatar 6:35pm Holly in NC:

Yay scat!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:36pm Gary:

Whoa, who's doing the vocal on this?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm Doug Schulkind:

Yusef is vocalizing now. Eddie Jefferson on the previous.
  6:41pm Dean:

When's the Lance Armstrong marathon?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44pm Doug Schulkind:

That's when I run to bathroom between mic breaks, Dean!
Avatar 6:46pm Holly in NC:

LOVE organ here...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm Doug Schulkind:

"Love organ" is such an adorable euphemism, Holly!
Avatar 6:49pm Holly in NC:

{blush} no REALLY. Keyboards.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm Doug Schulkind:

Songs about the moon landing in 1969 are like songs about the Titanic in 1912.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:50pm Gary:

I remember watching on TV, but I can't remember now if it was at school or home
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm davex:

Nice choices, Doug, out of the myriad of hours of moon songs out there.

Almost a full orbit too late, and breathless as a command module Lovell, but digging it nonetheless. Thanks, Doug!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Doug Schulkind:
