Why do I get the feeling that Peter Tork, as a career manager, was just as inept as he was portrayed on The Monkees?
  12:43am
Scott Carlson:

Always a good sign to hop onto the stream and hear Peter Tork at CBGBs
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47am
jj.:

probably the same could be said for any ex-monkee besides nesmith. tork was definitely way, way smarter than his character, though.
  12:52am
rw:

My friend Lynne has a pretty funny story about P. Tork melting a coffee pot on her stovetop. Hearing the story I got the impression he wasn't doing so well after the Monkees thing. He was always my favorite Monkee as a kid watching the show though.

mickey dolenz was on the cutting edge with the moog synthesizer...without him there would be no stereolab.
  12:56am
rw:

Just sitting here trying to imagine a world without Stereolab...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57am
jj.:

yeah, his post-monkees years were a bummer, sounds like. would love to hear the demos, though.
  12:59am
nate:

stereolab definitely inspired a lot of crummy late 90s bands, which is probably why tom scharpling hated mickey dolenz.

I love Peter too, just thought there was a bit of Stockholm Syndrome going on in his post-TV career. Stephen Stills must feel very lucky (and talented).

Independence Day, not "July 4th". It's a holiday celebrating overthrowing bad, non-responsive government.

So... maybe it's just my imagination, but I haven't noticed anybody being off their game. Maybe I haven't been paying close enough attention. Particularly enjoyed the amplified scissors, etc. by the way.

Hey, neil, things are swimming along here, I miss Nat Roe noises, too, his finds at the heart of each show were special.

Gotta watch the 'ead. It'll play tricks on you. Not sure it's always working in one's best interest. Or... maybe it is...
