P-90:

Yo, Martha. What it is?
  12:05am
Martha:

Something odd - don't worry, it will shrivel up and die soon enough...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Is that the title of a song or a thesis?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07am

In a bit of a diversion before we really get going, I wanted to mention I saw Jordowsoky's Dune tonight and just can't get over it. Hysterical, informative, inspirational.
  12:17am
Martha:

Thanks for the recommendation - hello all and thanks for checking in- also, I am pretty sure that is a dissertation title, tho' it may have already been taken -
  12:20am
Martha:

And welcome, lentiform -
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24am
mariano:

So funny, KP, we almost crossed paths. I was on my bike earlier and was thinking of going to see it, but ended up doing something else. Probably going tomorrow.
  12:30am
P-90:

There's something about that Felix Mace track title...
its very reminiscent of something the English Science Fiction author JG Ballard might have written. He wrote novels, but also these surreal twisted poetry things, even the words in that title are ones he would have used, I wonder if it's a quote?
Any Ballardians out there among the Marthites?
  12:34am
Martha:

I've read some of his stuff but not very much, so can't speak to it - though it is a reasonable theory -

Mariano, I don't want to overhype more than I have, but yeah .
  12:44am
Martha:

Where is it playing?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45am

Film Forum, right?
  12:48am

Evening Martha
  12:49am
P-90:

In LA in the 70's I knew a couple of the guys who were working on AJ's Dune. When the whole thing suddenly and unexpectedly stopped dead in its tracks, it was really traumatic. Jodorowsky is a charismatic guy, he was on a mission to make a movie of Dune that would be some kind of cultural milestone, and people got swept into his vision. It was not like the usual movie job for these guys.
  12:49am
KP:

Mariano, I was in the Angelika eating cheesecake and drinking coffee and wondering where my wife was. Luckily I then double checked. Who knew there were two theaters on Houston
  12:51am
Martha:

Man, have to see it - and thanks all for checking in -
  12:52am
P-90:

@KP aha! the old Angelika-Film Forum switcheroo! Native New Yorkers know you gotta watch out for that one
  12:52am
That BiPolar Guy with a shaved head:

I'm awake this late because I gave myself too much insulin and had to go to the hospital ER before I blacked out
  12:54am
Martha:

I'm an NNY and that one consistently messes w/ me -
  12:55am
KP:

Well I was born here and now I'm back and getting reacquainted.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55am
mariano:

@KP: Ah, wasn't meant to be then. I would've gone to FF, for some reason the last two or three times I've gone, it's been on a Friday, so now I'm programmed.
@P90: I remember you mentioning that before, must have been crushing.
  12:56am
P-90:

ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57am
mariano:

@Bipolar Guy: Woah, glad to hear you're ok!
  12:59am
KP:

Lecherous Gaze sounds imposing
  12:59am
That BiPolar Guy with a shaved head:

@mariano I'm fine but now I'm wide awake so I might not sleep the whole night
  1:01am
Martha:

This is actually one of their least imposing "tunes"
  1:01am
P-90:

@ mariano: Yeah, suddenly they weren't just out of a job, they were detached from this little club of really talented people who were gonna make this epic spectacle with the guy who did El Topo. Frankly, it wasn't just a cool project, it also seemed like a big career-booster for everyone involved. Then: *poof*

@BiPolar Guy: I'm a night owl myself. Some of the best shows are during the witching hour!
  1:25am
That BiPolar Guy with a shaved head:

@mariano your right! The best lineup is Saturday overnight into Sunday from midnight to 11am Sunday morning. It's great they have such good shows on the overnight
  1:27am
That BiPolar Guy with a shaved head:

. o O ( Did someone say prog? )
  2:01am
Martha:

well, these may be the least proggy of the tracks off of these albums - or maybe I am WAY over-sensitive to anything proggy -
Avatar 2:04am
Droll:

No Mellotron, flute solo, 7/8 time, or space-age mystic lyrics... Not very prog.
  2:06am
Martha:

You're right...I do need to study up!

Comet Control, huh? I like it! Sound a bit like a heavier Swervedriver. Or maybe bluesier.
