Was just doing some "Click Here" reading about Mike D's wallpaper, Cheap Trick's set list, and Mike Nesmith's autograph nuttery. Good stuff! Have a great show Mr. Shelley.

Michael, I collect the WB loss leaders. I have about 2/3 of them.

Live Life is another overlooked hit from the 70s Kinks.

Does Mike Nesmith keep a bottle of Liquid Paper handy if he makes a mistake with his autograph?

Seriously though, it seems like his price list is meant to keep the creepy autograph resellers away from him... do an ebay search for "autographed pickguard"

I thought the Rain stuff was after the Walker Brothers initial run...and pretty far removed from the Standells.
  11:47am
scott:

Gary Walker was one of the Walker Brothers before forming the Rain. Joey Molland was a member of his band before joining Badfinger.

Dale - word is that there's a black out up there at the transmitter!
  11:49am

Also, I'm pretty sure that Gary was the one who convinced Scott and John Walker to move from L.A. to London. He was right, because the Walker Bros. were superstars there for awhile.

Hey Michael, great show! I'm going to see Todd Rundgren tonight in Newton New Jersey. Can you play some Todd, maybe a cool cover done by a cool guy.

Nesmith charges $100 for an autographed album? What, did all that Liquid Paper money run out?
  12:21pm
Queens L. Bow:

RE: the comment about Loss Leaders---those were great promos for WB artists. I still have the triple "Looney Tunes," the new-wave/punk "Troublemakers" (which I think has some tracks that still aren't on CD) & "If the Shoe Fits" (also new wave, not as good). My sister had one called "I Didn't Know They Still Made Records Like This" which was sort of adult-contemporary.
  12:29pm
mike east:

Is the Aimee Mann Ted Leo project moving forward?
  12:29pm
Clay:

Those Loss Leaders were a good gateway for me to artists such as Beaver and Krause, Tim Buckley, Capt. Beefheart, Van Dyke Parks, etc. and one lost band with the dubious name of Hard Meat and a song called "Smile as You Go Under." Always wanted to find that again. Schlagers!
  12:33pm

Todd Rundgren is at Newton Theater tonight! Wow. That theater is great, saw the Marshall Crenshaw/Bottle Rockets show there recently.

The Both (Mann & Leo) release their first album on April 15th.
  12:36pm
Queens L. Bow:

Yep, there was a lot of great music on those discs: my Looney Tunes album had Beefheart, Zappa, Faces, Hendrix, as well as that Hard Meat song. Also, the Mann & Leo album,"The Both," is coming out next month.
