...I wonder if Slade shared any bills w/ Humble Pie...just blue-skying here...I think there is *one* Bill that The Wh♂ & Zep shared...

The one time I ever saw The Who was also the only time I saw The Grateful Dead. A Day On The Green in Oakland.

2% Rock n Roll, 40% Slade, 33% Mellotron, 25% bass chords that don't make sense -- it's Dave Mandl's New World of Echo!

Dave Mandl:

@RRN63: Slade and Humble Pie would have been the rockingest bill ever.

@Droll: Sounds about right.

I've heard of this fabled Day on the Green
Did Dr. Leary make a gubernatorial campaign speech there?

"So you think my singing's out of tune? Well, it makes me money" (Slade). How great is that?

Hello. I'm Paul, and I'd just like to say "WFMU rocks my world when I'm in New Jersey attending sporting events. Now pass the bloody reefer, mate."

Time's up already... When you get the other hour back there'll be more time for the Weekly Math Quiz and this forbidden bass chord thing... You know, the important stuff.

Thanks, Dave M! I'll bring a bass chord root note in next week for show and tell!

Out of the blue, "Do you want...?" suddenly came to mind and I needed to hear the lads knock one off like it was nothing... Ridiculously tight band. This ditty is under 2 minutes! It's like a damned candy bar! Only the best parts, just the right amount of crunch, and so sweet your teeth hurt.

So, are you gonna do 40% Slade? I'll listen.
