Good morning Bill and everyone. This week, the domination of the comments by food-related topics began earlier than last week, this time during Martha's show.
An interesting trend.

@P-90 non of those, just kidding. The local druids are pissed off about the new airport terminal that has been built there as a visitor centre about 1 1/2 miles from the site.

Are you playing some sneaky John Cage in the mix? Was the b-side of 4'33" called 1'31" perhaps??

P-90:

@Brian: they defaced Salisbury Plain with an airport terminal?
One doesn't have to be a Druid to be disgusted by that.
What a shame.

The signal is oscillating on-and-off about twice per second now, producing some very avant-garde syncopations
  4:10am
Fran:

Ah Christmas Songs - The Three Stooges (no, not ELP) - hippo song, Louvin Bros 'Santa's Big Parade, Spike Jones and Mel Blanc's various ditties are in my essentials.
  4:11am

@P-90 You're taking Brian much too seriously. One thing I've learned here is never to do that.
Avatar 4:12am

@Martyn - The sage speaks the truth!
  4:14am

@Bill: Maybe you could play the Darlene Love and also Diana Ross's Little Bright Star, like a mini-Motown X-mas classics set.

Trying to make out what you're saying is a little frustrating, but also weirdly fun somehow

re: Christmas songs:

A few years ago I got the Ventures box set, which somehow became a tree-trimming, egg-nog drinking, gift-wrapping Christmas tradition at my house.

If Die Hard is an x-mas classic, cant the Ventures be x-mas music?

OK removing headphones now. The stream problem is turning this track into King Crimson performing when totally drunk

@ Brian - I saw Spinal Tap play at CBGBs waaaay back then and was aching for them to lower the tiny Stonehenge, which would have been the perfect scale for that room. Of course they didn't do it. And for your amusement, while waiting on line to get in I bumped into a guy I had gone to film school with and he told me that he was planning to do a movie about Metal but after seeing ST, he thought there was nothing left to say :)

Jeff:

@P-90: if you're still hearing misbehavior, can you try a few different streams, to see if that makes a difference? For instance, there's this kind-of-crappy low-bandwidth one:
stream0.wfmu.org...

...or for the 128k MP3 stream, you can aim directly at the current primary server, thus:

relay1.wfmu.org...

...or the current secondary, here:

relay0.wfmu.org...

...just in case something about the path via which things are getting to you is having an effect.

For anyone having troubles - where are you, and what's your internet provider?

@Fran The Mobilisation Generale record is nice - I realized much of my biggest DJ fears when I saw that last playlist and most of it was French - at least it wasn't Gaelic or Welch - talk about butchering the language!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33am

@Fran - I didn't know that. Shame, not financially viable I suppose. I remember their little shop round the back of Goodge Street. The only place in London you could get African records at the time.
