Thanks for the François Houle Dave.
Avatar 9:22pm

Has name-squatting in the Friendship Society already begun? What's "Dave" or "David" cost? I smell marathon ploy.
Avatar 9:24pm
Dave Mandl:

@Andrew: Da nada.
Avatar 9:24pm

@Droll: If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

There are a lot of daves on the comment boards. If you want to be a dave you have to sign up early.

Can't I just put "Dave" in this name box to be the Dave I always wanted to be?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm

I worked in a place that had 4 Daves and through some weird act of fate they all sat adjacent to each other.

I know how to pronounce it, but my mouth isn't cooperating tonight.

Bon soir, Thierry.

RRN63: Great. It wouldn't be the same without you.
Avatar 9:48pm
Droll:

Surround is a waste if you don't also put up acoustic treatments (diffusion and absorption). Expensive stereo speakers are also a waste unless you put up treatments. Even a small amount in corners makes any system sound much better.

Heard you mention PIX. I worked in that building when they were great. Saw DJs in bar downstairs. Wonderful time in NY radio history

Avatar 9:57pm

You played Jandek when i was bringing in the milk LOL. Niceeeeee
Avatar 9:58pm
Droll:

Google calculator can be used to compute the length of a sound wave, if the length of the frequency you're trying to reproduce is longer than your room, it won't fit and you get spots that have no bass and others that are boomy. Absorption clears up those problems. www.google.com...

Diffusion is another matter, too much for Google calculator or chat board.

This sounds like a nightmare I had when I was VERY young

@Thierry from France:: Can you recommend any radio on the french flip side of this? ie. in French with live French playlists?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35pm

We kind of know what kind of music Clark Kent made -- but his secret identity is "Stewart Copeland".

@Rabbit - don't really see Andy as the wacky type. Now, Eric Burdon, on the other hand...
Avatar 11:12pm

What comes after music in 4/4 and 3/4? 13/8 and 7/8 time, alternating, of course! I knew you'd get to the math segment eventually.
Avatar 11:12pm
David L.B. is RRN63:

- well - impish I thot...Burdon did call himself a 'gnome'...perhaps we'll let Andy off on this one...

I liked that Carl Orff thing a lot!
Avatar 11:15pm
Dave Mandl:

@Droll: Well, 7/8 falls between 3/4 and 4/4. Then there'd be 9/8. Or you could go to 17/16.
Avatar 11:18pm
Droll:

I stand corrected. That's why you're the internationally syndicated radio DJ and I'm sitting at a desk taking notes.
  11:25pm
trish:

Doesn't look like anything has been posted, yet. I see Mudd Up : http://www.jetfm.asso.fr/site/Mudd-Up.html
And glad I asked. Rfi's apprendre le français avec l’actu weighs on the broccolis side of the plate.
