I needed this. Rock and roll.
  3:14pm common:

hell yea wire!
Swag For Life Member 3:14pm phat:

Been hearing Wire a lot lately.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Mike East:

we all need some rock and roll...and who better to give it to us than Terre T?
  3:15pm AWS from MP:

Great to hear the Move intro again, Terre - it's a big part of Sat afternoon - you've been missed (despite the excellent fill-ins!)
  3:15pm Todd Elkin:

Hell YES, WIRE. Hit the ground running Terre T!
Avatar 3:17pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Wire we here? Wire we hear! Wire not.
Avatar 3:18pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...hit the RedAsphalt running...
Avatar 🍒 Swag For Life Member 3:21pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Zats...I was going to get up and do stuff today, but now Cherry Blossom Clinic is on. I'm compelled to sit here and listen.
  3:21pm Todd Elkin:

OK I'm gonna say it- I think SAVAGES are JUST OK. I really don't get the rockcrit mass genuflection/salivation. to me THEY ARE OK. not great, not offensive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm eyenoise:

Savages album is pretty great. Derivative, but great.
Avatar 3:24pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Savages wiki :

...maybe (??) we all just wish there was more Siouxsee...
  3:25pm common:

nice to hear come. always reminded me a bit of polvo. good stuffs.
Avatar 3:27pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...'Siouxsie' oughta be spelled right...
Avatar 🍒 Swag For Life Member 3:29pm AP Paulie B:

I'm somewhere between Todd and eyenoise on Savages, i.e. somewhere between OK and great.

As for the critical genuflection, there's a bunch of sociological reasons for it that we could spend the remainder of the show debating (and maybe we will).
Avatar 🍒 Swag For Life Member 3:30pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Well, these library books aren't going to return themselves. Please don't play anything good until I get back...ha ha!
  3:34pm Todd Elkin:

@AP Paulie B
On a feminist/sociological level, there are PLENTY of women fronted bands that I'd genuflect to before Savages. On a postpunk throwback level, that in itself is not a reason to genuflect. ALSO Paulie B I frikin love your podcast!
  3:48pm Ignore Function:

Are Savages good live?
  3:49pm Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

"Ah! Leah!" = masterpiece.
  3:50pm Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

"Sugar Lady" =wow!
Avatar 🍒 Swag For Life Member 3:54pm AP Paulie B:

Thanks, Todd!

So I tune in an hour late today, and we're playing...Steve Miller?! What the...??
  4:25pm Todd Elkin:

Kudos terre t for that long-ass set of majestic majesticness

Hiya TT :)
  4:38pm Cliff:

I really hope to hear Van Halen someday on this show :D
Avatar 4:42pm Danne D:

Excited about The Above show :) They are great friends of The Cherry Blossom Clinic :)
  4:43pm Jeff S.:

Regarding Savages: Does anybody else hear the voice of Geddy Lee when she sings? It's all I hear. And then I become confused as to why Rush's front man is playing with a post-punk Joy Division soundalike. I want to like them, but the Geddy Lee thing gets in the way.
Avatar 4:51pm spodiodi:

I heard VH will be playing LIVE on next week's Cherry Blossom Clinic!!?
Avatar 4:52pm Danne D:

Yay :) old school Cars
Avatar 4:52pm spodiodi:

Steve Miller took me back to roller skating rink c6th grade.
  4:53pm common:

@spodiodi is that right?
Avatar 4:53pm spodiodi:

Jah. Good times.
  4:55pm common:

wow!
Avatar 4:55pm spodiodi:

Yeah, I'm surprised I can remember that far back myself!
  4:56pm common:

sorry, i was writing about the VH live.
Avatar 4:57pm spodiodi:

Oh, that might be something I made up, sorry.
Avatar 4:57pm spodiodi:

I love hearing Diamond Dave drop science over the airwaves though... if only.
  4:58pm common:

ha! would be great, though!
  4:58pm Cliff:

Am I wrong for preferring Sammy Hagar-fronted VH to the earlier David Lee Roth stuff? Maybe it's because I hit puberty in the late 80's/early 90's.
Avatar 4:59pm spodiodi:

Yeah, late pubin' dude. I wont hold it against you.
Avatar 4:59pm spodiodi:

To be clear: Yes, you're wrong.
  5:00pm Cliff:

Yeah, I know. I just can't help it.
Avatar 5:12pm Danne D:

what phone number?

Avatar 5:13pm Danne D:

LOL thought Terre was offering Yes tickets :)
  5:13pm Cliff:

Danne - me too!
Avatar 🍒 Swag For Life Member 5:14pm AP Paulie B:

We don't have that much taste, Danne!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm Mike East:

@DD - that thought entered my mind too...but quickly left
  5:14pm Jordan:

Just figured out that the intro to Terre's bed music (Pierre Henry - "psych rock") is from an amazing 60's french flick called "Z", about the military dictatorship in Greece. Perhaps I am late to the party, but I saw it recently - highly recommended.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm Stevel:

Groin-grabbing goodness!
Avatar 5:15pm Danne D:

@Paulie - I've heard Terre play Yes before so I know she's got that kinda taste :D
  5:18pm Cliff:

Jordan - are you talking about this? www.imdb.com...
  5:19pm Jordan:

yes indeedee
Avatar 5:19pm Danne D:

wow sounds a bit like John Wesley Harding
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:23pm Mike East:

highly recommended, eh, Jordan? (adds to netflix queue) Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm Mike East:

oh right...I was supposed to buy this eleventh dream day album. thanks for reminding me.
  5:24pm Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

Z was inspired by the Greek situation but is set in an unnamed country.
  5:25pm Cliff:

Sweet, I'll check it out.
Avatar 🍒 5:25pm David Shortell:

The Z soundtrack LP doesn't include Psyche Rock for some reason.
Avatar 5:26pm Danne D:

not to be confused of course with Dweezil and Ahmet Zappa's band Z
Avatar 5:26pm spodiodi:

Nice song! (by Eleventh Dream Day)

Close as a baby's bottom, at least, I hope.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm Rich in Washington:

When I first heard this song on the radio, back in the day, I assumed it was foreign punk rock, in some indecipherable language.
