Favoriting Brian Turner: Playlist from June 18, 2013 Favoriting

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

The Oblivians  Live in the WFMU Studio   Favoriting Engineered by Juan Aboites    They've been off record since 1997, but the kings of Memphis soul-punk have returned to heap another tinnitus-inducing set of songs on the unsuspecting public. Despite a few reunion gigs over the years, The Oblivians had yet to record a new album, but that's all changed with "Desperation" out on In the Red Records. Ripped on to Dan Auerbach's Skully 8-track tape machine in Nashville, the band's no-fi live sound preserved for another go-around, and they're touring as well! Join Greg, Jack, and Eric for a blowout on Brian's show, and New Yorkers can catch them live August 16th at the Bell House. Oblivians used our Fender Bassmen a few weeks ago...or atleast I hope they did...we had to rush a couple new ones down there cuz of some blown fuses.

Oh Capt. Beyond, clicky star there.

Staplers are good to have on hand if you find yourself rocking out alone in your cubicle- no pit to mosh in, no "mother' to tear down. bang on a stapler- it's a serviceable substitute. HAhahaahaha BT....

My favorite (ghost pepper sauce) one I have is Bigfat's 808. It's smoky and has almost a steak sauce tinge to it. Once you work up your tolerance, it's really tasty.

The naga jolokia has a really great flavor for a chili, unfortunately it's so damn hot, it takes awhile to build up a tolerance to enjoy it. I use on a handful of drops at a time. And, it's not for all of my hot sauce needs.

Some a-hole is currently trying to morph several peppers to make a hotter version than the 1 million Scoville unit ghost pepper. Why?
Avatar 4:05pm
pat from the district of columbia:

I use El Yucateca green, Tabasco, and Schriracha. All I need.

Right Carm, what's the point.
Avatar 4:07pm
northguineahills:

It's already happened. It's some hybrid b/tn the naga and the trinidadian scorpian. I tried it, almost a chocolately flavor, but super intense heat. I only could manage 4mm diameter of the pepper at a time.
Avatar 4:08pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- like - let's eat some pepperspray...
- heard about a guy who's turning off the more recent genes in a chicken to get a dinosuar; reportedly already got a shorter tail w/ fewer feathers. When you get a threefoot chicken w/ teeth - you may need superhot pepperspray...
Avatar 4:11pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...a *longer* tail...

Just rubbed my eyes which reminded me that I was cutting habaneros earlier.

I can't have hot sauces w/ preservatives, or odd artificial colors, they make me sick. Not sure why. If the hot sauces are 100% natural, then I can eat any amount.
