Good morning Thomas and Sem Chumbo, good afternoon Yair

Thomas:

good day, fred, and Sem Chumbo, everyone! good to be backk
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20am
fred:

Thomas, I received that Norbert Moslang LP you played a few weeks ago. Thanks for the heads-up, I like it a lot
Avatar 6:25am
Yair Yona:

Hi Fred, how's everything?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29am
fred:

A lot of live music these days, so pretty good. Jérôme Noetinger did an amazing set this week.
How's the feedback about that Farthest South record?
Avatar 6:31am
Yair Yona:

@Fred - well, meanwhile we hear good responses from people. we're just sending the record to critics these days, so it'll probably take couple of weeks until we see some reviews.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35am
fred:

That Mapping Scratching was fun
Avatar 6:39am
Thomas:

fred - yes! from Seiei Jack's "Joke Project" cassette from 84. interesting and charming throughout, but i especially liked the "Mapping" part
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44am
fred:

Seiei Jack's blogspot is dangerous for the eyes, if not the brain.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07am
fred:

Yeah, definitely some bits of a (crappy to me) french song in there called "plaisir d'amour". The title could be a pun, as "loques" means rags. I don't know about that "Locques" spelling though
Avatar 7:09am
Thomas:

a spelling error from me most likely!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11am
fred:

Maybe not, when Jac Berrocal is involved there could be more layers to the joke
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16am
fred:

Well, a google search came up with a pic of the record, looks like a spelling error indeed: it reads "loques" on the sleeve: continuo.wordpress.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24am
fred:

Garageland somehow feels like a Clash mashup/tribute to me
Avatar 7:25am
Thomas:

a Clash critique, in fact
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31am
fred:

A Clash critique? I have a hard time figuring out the concept... but why not?
This Lucky Sperms track's title is promising, let's see where it goes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36am
fred:

What's with the Lynch theme these days? William Berger had a pic of Inland Empire on his playlist on Friday. I'm not complaining, I love his movies (his music, the less said the better)
Avatar 7:39am
Thomas:

dunno! i rewatched eraserhead last week, really taken by the soundtrack, and Alan Splet
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40am
fred:

Is that from the Sacred Bones release of the OST to Eraserhead? I missed it and have been kicking myself about it
Avatar 7:41am
Thomas:

exactly, fred. I know it got repressed... sold out again?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43am
fred:

Yep, sold out. I only heard about it recently.
In my (long gone) college years, I would record his movies on tape, and listen to that on my walkman. The sounds and mixing, not just the music, are really amazing
Avatar 7:48am
Yair Yona:

the Eraserhead ost is brilliant. Going to see this movie in the cinema next week, first time since VHS days
  7:51am
pat p:

If you live in or near Manhattan, the midnight screenings of Eraserhead at IFC draw the oddest crowds. Best show in town.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:04am
fred:

I'm such a Lynch freak that I once watched all of Twin Peaks in a 24-hour marathon with friends. I was the only one who made it through without sleeping
Avatar 8:10am
Yair Yona:

Nice one Fred ;) I watched the entire Beatles Anthology, ten hours, with 2kg of peanuts and 5 cans of beer (normally I drink one and pass out). then we went Disco, was a VERY strange night in London town.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16am
fred:

There was a delightfully incongruous South African cover of Pretty Vacant on a recent Rob Weisberg premium.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20am
fred:

Fished it out: the band's name was Shikisha, on the 2011 TSP premium
  8:24am
pat p:

great mix today!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27am
fred:

Justice Yeldham is totally great!
Avatar 8:27am

thank you pat p

fred, does JY still play in Europe? I was lucky to catch him on his final US visit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32am
Mike East:

good day, folks. I hope this Sunday finds you well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33am
fred:

He took part in last year's Sonic Protest, I haven't seen him since. I guess I could ask around...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:34am
fred:

Good morning Mike East
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:36am
Mike East:

hey fred - there was an article on scotch in the recent New Yorker. Specifically, bruichladdich
Avatar 8:38am
Jay/London:

good morning Thomas I had a very late night but am here now will have to catch the rest of the show later
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40am
fred:

@Mike East: I usually find Bruichladdich to be not peaty enough, but I heard good things about recent bottlings. Maybe I should try again
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44am
Mike East:

I never had it, but according to the article, they were experimenting with different ways to sell young scotch. Their first ten year just came out a couple years ago. Hopefully they evolve in the right direction.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47am
fred:

Do you have a link to that article? "right" is a matter of taste, but I think we share some core values there. I'm not going to indulge soon, the marathon is coming soon, I'd like to reach the performance space level, but it's probably out of my reach
Avatar 8:50am
Thomas:

Hey, Jay - good night, i hope?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51am
Mike East:

@fred -trying to find one, but I think it may be "locked" or something for online subscribers only. I have the hard copy. I can try to scan and send it to you, if you like. Its this one: www.newyorker.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52am
fred:

@Mike East: Thanks, the link works!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53am
Mike East:

...and I agree that "right" is a matter of taste, but it can get tricky when a big corporation takes over and starts finding ways to save money.
Avatar 8:54am
Jay/London:

yeah it must have been Thomas as the state of my head says it was .. btw this is waking me up good show

@Mike East: free access stopped after the first page. Don't bother sending me the full thing, I'll ask at my regular supplier, I trust them blindly: www.whisky.fr
I've been going there for close to twenty years, they know what I like by now
Looks promising though, and now that Japanese whisky prices have caught up...
