Super cool early a.m. music, Meghan. Whatever your theme was going to be, I like this even better!

Not sure what went south on those previous comments. Gin and Tonic, chilling with my niece and her fiancé. Just got back from some some swimming on Bon island.

Jim:

I just scored the latest Godspeed disc yesterday. Haven't listened to it, yet. Part of today's list of things to do.

Thanks for the Tortoise endorsement. Have never owned any Tortoise, but I think I'll end that deficit, soon. Loving writing today's blog post to your soundtrack.

the first album is Betting Dollers to Daughnuts
Avatar 6:57am
fred von helsing:

or as we geeks call it, the theme will be "less than three"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57am
Cubicle Carl:

Ha, "slip the monkey." Sounds like it should mean something, but not sure what.
Avatar 6:59am
Sem Chumbo:

@CCarl: maybe you are thinking of spanking the monkey. In Newfoundland, the equivalent is "cuffing the duke." FYI
Avatar 7:00am
fred von helsing:

You can't trust iTunes, you mean. It's psycho.
  7:01am
Mark:

I'm with you, Jim. I'm going to correct my Tortoise deficit pronto. Whenever I hear them, I think, "Oh, that's cool, who's that?" And it's Tortoise.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Would it be possible to store a batch of mp3s on a USB drive and use that as an emergency fill-in show when your computer is out of commission?
Avatar 7:04am
pierre:

@Dave B : nice…
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04am
Cubicle Carl:

@sem Yes, cuffing and spanking crossed my mind. But it sounds more like an expression the mob or a rogue businessman might use. I think we should use it to mean when an WFMU DJ can't execute the program they had planned, for whatever reason.
  7:04am
Dave B:

I hope you've been backin shit up Meghan! Sounds like it might be a permissions thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05am
Meghan:

Dave it was off of my external..... we shall see.... I have another file that has stuff, but who the hell knows..... I am hating this
  7:07am
Mark:

Cuffing and spanking costs extra. No, Meghan your show is going great. The only indication that you didn't plan it this way is our comment thread here. Your music selection is first-rate.
Avatar 7:07am
GaryfromIndiana:

Good morning. I'm checking to make sure Meghan could broadcast today.
  7:09am
Dave B:

I'm loving this set though! Setting the mood right from here. The niece and fiancé hooked me up with a bunch of Nepali CDs and Kollywood DVDs.
Avatar 7:10am

Tunes are great, just with 100% less monkey. Deferred gratification, and so on. All is well.

@Mark, totally concur. Meghan, you are a freeform purist at heart. Winging it becomes you.
Avatar 7:12am
fred von helsing:

@Ken I keep a DJ set core on Dropbox; throw me some CDs or MP3s on a theme and I'm good for three hours
  7:13am
Dave B:

Simian free sounds. No monkeying around.
Avatar 7:13am
GaryfromIndiana:

I love the foreign songs. You're not going to find those in Indiana. One reason why I listen to WFMU on the internet
Avatar 7:13am
fred von helsing:

Does WFMU have one of those things where you can drop the coded disc thingie on the turntable and use it to scratch a CD ? I forget what it's called.
  7:14am
Dave B:

Serato FvH?
Avatar 7:14am
fred von helsing:

aw ratscrew, gotta head off to fuel the mortal coil
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15am
Meghan:

Not having a theme when all goes bad makes it fun cause I get to play stuff I don't normally get to play! And flip through the new bin!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16am
Ken From Hyde Park:

The music this morning reminds me of Hot Rod's shows on Friday mornings.
Avatar 7:17am
fred von helsing:

@DaveB no Serato is the main DJ SW alternative to Traktor yeah ? I think I mean a "timecode" but I'm not sure cos Uncle Google is giving me some crazy results
Avatar 7:18am

It must be the travellers theme again, with Asia as the set ?

Contrary to the song's premises, one monkey CAN stop the show.
Good music though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42am

One monkey can stop many things!!! Stupid monkeys.....
Avatar 7:44am

Let Meghan pick the theme, but I'm thinking monkey wrenches, bugs, gremlins, Murphy's Law, strikes, sabotuers, and other problems. That Irish General Tim O'Shenko from the Bugs Bunny cartoon.
