Hey Everyone!
psyched to be back on the air. I'm making a list of movies with non-cgi space ships. any ideas?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:12pm
Doug Schulkind:

How about the 1974 Sun Ra film "Space Is the Place." (which, by the way, was produced by Jim Newman, uncle of the GTDR listener "Uncle Michael.")
Avatar 7:15pm
Jesse K:

no kidding! great film, I haven't seen it in a while, I forgot that there were ships in it. It's on the list!
Avatar 7:18pm
Dervish:

What about Brother From Another Planet? Can't remember if we see Joe Morton deposited on earth from his spaceship in Harlem.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm
listener james from westwood:

just flying saucers and the like, or any non-cgi sci-fi spaceship? b/c the original 3 star wars films only used models. no cgi until the special editions in those. 2001 and alien both used models.
Avatar 7:21pm
Jesse K:

yeah, anything. I'm especially interested in variety.
I'm pretty sure that Brother From Another Planet didn't show the ship, more of a flash in the sky
Avatar 7:21pm
Dervish:

How about Barbarella w/Jane Fonda?
Avatar 7:23pm
Jesse K:

There is a Spanish/Italian movie from the 80s called "The Brother From another planet" or something like that which does have a spaceship.
Barbarella is perfect!

Planet of the Apes! You might find some more on this list of the 25 cooles spaceships in movies:
