Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22am
fred:

I'm warm enough, but kinda snowed in: all bus lines are stopped, a few trains might be running. I still plan to go to a show this afternoon, but I won't if it takes walking there
Avatar 6:23am
Jay/London:

where are you fred ?
Avatar 6:30am
Thomas:

fred, how heavy was the storm? didn't realize you guys got dumped on
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32am
fred:

I'm in the suburbs of Paris. Walking to that show would take me something like a couple of hours at best
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33am
fred:

@Thomas: It wasn't a storm at all. There might be something like one inch of snow, maybe two in places. It doesn't happen all that often, so it wrecks havoc on the transit system, it's embarrassing.
Avatar 6:36am
Jay/London:

yeah the same here in london most of the network down and -6 c with chill factor now it's snowing hard
Avatar 6:38am
Jay/London:

bob seger * :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40am
fred:

The main reason why I won't walk to that gig: the venue isn't heated, so chances are they will cancel. I don't have a mobile phone, so I'd just show up and have to head back home
Avatar 6:42am
Jay/London:

don't go fred it's not worth it just stay home with wfmu

You're the voice of wisdom Jay. It pisses me off because they're good people and they will probably lose money
Good morning Brian, and happy birthday to your daughter! How old is she?
  7:02am
Brian in Snowland:

23 years young. I can remember that, it was 1975.
Avatar 7:07am

Agh! News to me about Bill's newly discovered fracture. Wishin him the very best.

Like the photo, Mike.

Mrs. Bill Mac:

Hey Thomas, Hey Jay... Doctors originally thought he had 2 fractures in his ankle and casted the leg. His 10 day follow-up x-ray showed the fractures were not healing so a x-ray of the knee was ordered and a 3rd fracture was found. Bill is recovering at home from emergency surgery on Friday were they placed pins his ankle.
Avatar 8:25am
Philo Gristle:

Jon Langford of Mekons is the brother of famed science fiction writer David Langford so I reckon a lot of Fleetway magazines in that household growing up. Hello, all!
Avatar 8:25am

Thanks Mrs Bill Mac For the info please give him my very best wishes and hope he is not in any pain
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26am

Good morning Philo, I guess you can have a good laugh reading our complaints about barely noticeable snow
  8:31am
Brian in Snowland:

@ Mrs M Will Bill still be able to play the piano?

@Philo I am still trying to get my hands on a collaboration twixt Jon Langford & Richard Buckner.
Avatar 8:32am
Philo Gristle:

Morning Fred! I'm in midwest USA now, with no snow on the ground. Might get 10F (-14C) next week, and some flurries. As cold as it gets here. I miss snow! Sometimes.
Avatar 8:34am
Thomas:

Thanks, Mrs. B.M. - Give Bill my best for me? Hope he's back on his foot soon
Avatar 8:34am

You wouldn't miss the slippery grey-brown sludge we call snow in these parts. I'll really eager to go out before the fresh stuff turns into that mess
Avatar 8:37am
Philo Gristle:

Hi Thomas & Jay! And yeah, mostly I miss a lazy, quiet Sunday morning cross-country skiing experience in the wilderness. Not urban snow on a morning you have to go to work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37am
fred:

"I'll" means "I'm"; ugh, I suck at multitasking
Avatar 8:37am
Jay/London:

oh fred no hope of that for this week it will freeze tonight
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40am
fred:

@Jay: just great, a layer of packed snow/ice underneath the sludge

Avatar 8:46am
Philo Gristle:

Sure is Philo, I am in Watford about 15-20 miles north west of London. Adjacent to John Betjamin's Metroland.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54am
fred:

@Jay: I still might weasel out today, but I'll be seeing a show tomorrow, no matter what. It won't be a day when I can just go to work and get back home
  8:56am
Brian in Snowland:

Meteroland is not a theme park, more suburbia
