Ya know, when the last hurricane hit they were talking about rats being a problem. This time 'round, did they all drown and get cleared out?

Something tells me, T-Zero, that many made it out! But this is exactly the kind of news we need to get... Anyone?
  9:52pm
Skirkie:

Rats are smart little fuckers. I'm sure there fine. The feral cats around my office along the Hackensack seemed to make it out ok.
  10:15pm
Marmalade kitty:

Hallo D. Blumin! everyone!!
  10:15pm
Bill from VT:

I am form NJ but now in VT, where we weren't really impacted by the storm. I feel a little guilty.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm
D. Blumin:

George, might just do that later... We'll see... Woulda made a great set... Did you get the reissue of all the stuff? Excellent!
  10:20pm
Bill from VT:

I don't understand why this one was so bad for NYC. The city has been hit by worse in the past, hasn't it?
  10:21pm
Richard from Venezuela:

Hello Daniel and all the listeners.
  10:23pm
George of Troy:

Daniel, the Dome box (1-4+5) is on my short list of must-haves!
  10:23pm
T-Zero:

@Bill: I don't think the city's had this kind of flooding since the late 30s or early 40s
  10:25pm
Bill from VT:

What about Irene? Floyd (1999)? Or, to go back a few years, Hurricane David. that one definitly hit the city (or at least northern NJ)
  10:25pm
jeff-m:

evening Daniel
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25pm
D. Blumin:

Hi Richard! Bill, I certainly don't remember anything like this since my arrival in '79 in terms of NYC.
  10:27pm
Bill from VT:

I guess I shouldn't really talk, since I wasn't there. If this was more rain then Floyd, then I am thoroughly impressed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm
D. Blumin:

Hi Jeff!
  10:31pm
Looms:

This slowed down version of The Last Lime sounds like my brain right now...
  10:32pm
Skirkie:

This storm was huge, actually physically huge. It was absolutely more the storm surge and wind than the actual rain.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32pm
D. Blumin:

It was the storm surges that did much of the water-related damage, Bill.
  10:33pm
Looms:

Jeff! Nice to hear from you. Hope everything's okay at home.
  10:34pm
T-Zero:

@Skirkie: Definitely huge. I'm hundreds of miles inland and the winds knocked out power all 'round me. For once, my building was spared, but all the neighbors around were knocked out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35pm
D. Blumin:

What Skirkie said! In my neighborhood, it was the wind and even that was much greater than last year's... so can only imagine what it was like watching the water rise out by coastal areas...
  10:36pm
T-Zero:

@D Blumin: Yeppers. The surge is what sunk you guys.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36pm
D. Blumin:

Looms - both versions are great! But it seemed to call for a lil "treatment"! And thanks again for yr pledges!!!
  10:36pm
Bill from VT:

Has anyone surveryed the damaged on the west side of Jersey City (i.e. West End Ave)?
  10:39pm
jeff-m:

yeah, I'm good man. Just minor power outage compared to others is all.

(Daniel: We, need beer?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40pm
D. Blumin:

Jeff, is that a rhetorical q????
  10:41pm
jeff-m:

hmmm
  10:42pm
Bill from VT:

@jeff-m: you're on the weste side?
  10:43pm
jeff-m:

no sir, I'm down in the New Brunswick area. Central Jersey.
  10:45pm
Looms:

How do your westies feel about living in Central Jersey?
  10:45pm
Bill from VT:

@Jeff: Oh, well I was going to say that I used to live on the west side (I thought you were answering my question about west end ave), but I also used to live in Highland Park, so there you go.
  10:46pm
Maya:

...not going anywhere yet - not really possible while this show is on!
