Listener comments!

  12:05pm
Ralph And Susan (UK):

looking forward to this evening (here's) show
  12:17pm
Rob:

you guys sound great for a couple of guys who were out late
  12:18pm
Stinky:

Happy birthday Chuck Berry!
  12:35pm
jH:

Fair enough, Matt.
  12:45pm
Tom:

I had the pleasure of seeing Chuck Berry in concert at the Palace Theatre in Stamford, CT. He played a blues tune that made him cry and he had to wipe his tears away! Now that's what I call playing from the heart!
  12:53pm
Dominick:

Happy Birthday to the poet laureate
  12:54pm
Chuck:

Thanks for the Birthday Wishes. Please don't talk about my videos
  1:00pm
Dominick:

I warned you about turntable 2 months ago!
  1:00pm
Boog:

Press both 33 and 45 buttons at the same time and you should be able to play 78s. I've done it before on Gaylord's show. Unless they've changed the turntables since then.
  1:00pm
Stinky:

I like "My Ding A Ling"!
  1:02pm
Gaylord Fields:

Also, if you play a 78, make sure to swap out the stylus, and then swap it back when you're done.
  1:09pm
Matt from Springfield:

Happy Birthday Chuck!
Great show and great idea Matt and Ted! I'll have to catch up on the Louis Jordan riff and Dave Bartholomew's "My Ding A Ling".
  1:09pm
Gaylord Fields:

I would have guessed you'd play Ronnie Hawkins' more patient "Forty Days."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm
Matt and Ted:

We'll play it later. Be patient.
  1:17pm
Gaylord Fields:

I'm gonna give you thirty minutes to play that song. I done called up the gypsy woman on the mobile phone.
  1:20pm
Gaylord Fields:

I bet Arthur Lee Maye wouldn't have screwed up the "two-three the count" line.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm
Matt and Ted:

Forty minutes, Gaylord.
  1:22pm
Gaylord Fields:

Right, right: the Canadian exchange rate.
  1:26pm
Jotham:

tape a dime or something small with some weight at the end of the arm above the needle on TT2. I've done this before when making tapes of warped records.
  1:34pm
Boog:

"Great Twenty-Eight" was first issued in 1982 by Chess/Sugar Hill. Then issued by Chess/MCA in 1984. I grew up with a different 2-LP set: "Golden Decade" from late sixties.
  1:36pm
Lore:

John Lee Hooker allowed his baby 90 days. Patient man. Different song, though.
  1:40pm
McGee:

Happy Birthday Chuck Berry! Little late but I'm here Mr Fiveash. Thanks
  1:45pm
duke:

Happy B'day Chuck. I got the hillbilly blues too.
  1:49pm
Ralph And Susan (UK):

good idea playing the Hot Rods
  1:57pm
Jotham:

nice call on the X song, especially after the Blasters!
  2:04pm
Dominick:

Another LP titled L.A.M.F. by Bunky & Jake has great versions of County Line & We Two
  2:13pm
Ralph And Susan (UK):

we guessed Get It On was a coming - brilliant
  2:31pm
Jon von:

Great show. Speaking of "explicit", don't forget that "Chuck" is the best name for playing the Name Game. That's my personal tribute.
  3:01pm
Tom:

Holy Mackerel, Andy! Today's show sho is sounding good!
  3:14pm
John Lydon:

"I don't know the word."
  3:21pm
Hackensack Slim:

Viva Viva Rock & Roll
  3:26pm
John Lennon's Ghost:

Thanks for playing me and the boys. Y'know, I once said, "If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry'."
  3:28pm
John Lennon's Ghost:

Also: Booooooo! (I'm getting in some practice for those awful kids who'll be knocking on Mother's door at the Dakota on Halloween.)
  3:40pm
Ralph And Susan (UK):

Mike Spenser and the Count Bishops - you guys are spoiling us - epic shoe
  3:41pm
Boog:

Gonna play something by The Crawdaddys? They cut a couple Chuck songs.
  3:42pm
Gaylord Fields:

So Tiny Tim > Johnny Rivers, Lonnie Mack, et al. No argument here.
  3:42pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hooray for Tiny Tim!
  3:44pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Gaylord: Well we all know the Johnny Rivers version--Tiny Tim's is more obscure, and...how shall we say, creative :)
  3:44pm
Matt from Springfield:

Incidentally Gaylord, I heard about your Kinks Konfrontation this morning--I look forward to that!
  3:46pm
carmen:

thanks for playing the flamin' groovies
  3:49pm
Ralph And Susan (UK):

Eddie Clearwater 2X9?
  3:52pm
Tom:

Request for Promised Land, please?
  3:58pm
Ralph And Susan (UK):

Talking Bout YOU?
  4:00pm
Ralph And Susan (UK):

oh sweet
  4:01pm
seang:

Cajun style!
  4:03pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hey seang! Yeah, liked that Cajun twist to it.
  4:13pm
mark ehmcke:

how about "Drifting Heart". great version by Panther Burns. also a fine "Jaguar + Thunderbird" by Dave Edmunds on a Stiff comp.
  4:16pm
Ralph And Susan (UK):

we appreciate the marathon
  4:19pm
Matt from Springfield:

You guys are doing great! Keep it up through the final stretch!
  4:28pm
Matt from Springfield:

Female duet Chuck Berry, never knew he released any of those!

And "NADINE"! He has some of his Poet Laureate worthy lines in here!
  4:40pm
Matt from Springfield:

Starting your 11th and probably final set! That's right, ELEVEN, no typo!

"Developmentally disabled rock"! That's a Bill Kelly premium title, right there!
  4:40pm
Matt from Springfield:

Cliché alert, but both of you took this show to eleven. There. Had to be said!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm
Matt and Ted:

Thanks for tuning in!
  4:48pm
Matt from Springfield:

My pleas, thank YOU two for this birthday special!
And consider combining forces for other specials in the future!
  4:54pm
Gaylord Fields:

Matt and Ted: Someone should give the two of you an award for bringing forth this incredible five-hours of Chuck Berry music! Perhaps a little trinket you can wear so people will know about your accomplishment, like some silver bells hanging on a string.
  4:55pm
jH:

Wonderfully done, gents.
  5:00pm
Debbie D:

Great show!
  5:00pm
boogie:

enjoyed it, gentlemen . . . thanx
  5:00pm
Stinky:

Thanks dudes!
  5:01pm
Ralph And Susan (UK):

Thank you and goodnight!
