  7:10pm
Adam in Portland:

I love "Point of No Return" by Expose. There, I said it.
  7:12pm
Adam in Portland:

"Country Shit." niiiiiiiiiice.
  7:14pm
Frisko Kid:

I've really enjoyed your show over the years, Trent. It's always a fun listen. And you've helped me appreciate some artists I never thought I'd like. Thanks!
  7:17pm
Marmalade Kitty:

PULP!!
  7:17pm
Minnesota Jeff:

I knew this as a William Shatner song before I knew he was covering Pulp. I do prefer the Shat' singing it.
  7:17pm
Robert:

The Shatner version is so much better. How many songs can you say that about?
  7:17pm
Minnesota Jeff:

This is still real good though.
  7:19pm
Robert:

There's an excellent miniature plastic figures stop motion video for this.
  7:19pm
trent:

Thanks Frisko. THAT IS MY JOB!!! This song, this version, one time when i was out of my mind / totally in my mind I decided was the best song that ever existed and still kind of on that tip
  7:20pm
jaycjay:

Sorry I can not say "the Shatner version is better" even about this song.
  7:21pm
Robert:

Sorry, jcj, if I'd heard this first I wouldn't've thought much of it, probably wouldn't've heard the lyrics well enough to pay att'n. The Shatner version, yes.
  7:23pm
Marmalade Kitty:

YAAAH!! Trent boy :)
  7:23pm
jaycjay:

Fair enough. for me, when I hear that version my mind goes "yeah, that's William Shatner" and I can't take it seriously at all.
  7:25pm
Adam in Portland:

I prefer Rane to Vestex. There, I said it!
  7:27pm
Dan B From Upstate:

Can't listen live, but I'll check out the archive tomorrow morning. Thanks for the music, Trent. Hope to see you back soon!
  7:32pm
Aaaah!:

Aaaah! No!!
  7:33pm
Heck nooooooo!:

Hellllll noooooooo!
  7:34pm
Adam in Portland:

Put some Trent in your mouth.
  7:34pm
Robert:

The thing about Shatner is that he's not a SINGER. Big deal. He emotes, usually hammily, but in that case it worked.

But I know what you mean. My friends can't take Bingo Gazingo seriously because of his voice. It's still great poetry, some story telling, worked well with music. "Everything's OK at the OK Corral" tells a great story.
  7:35pm
Charles in Portland:

Waaaah!! We're going to miss you, Trent. Hope you'll be back soon. Thanks so much for introducing me to lots of great new music.
  7:37pm
Robert:

Remember, everybody's on what amounts to a long rotation here. He's just going onto the bench. And now that they host alternate streams, so they're really producing more than 24 hrs. a day of programming, that may not be for long.
  7:38pm
jaycjay:

Yep, so many talented staffers, so few time slots.
  7:41pm
Marmalade Kitty:

we have to alter the way we percieve time, then every one will have a time slot ;)
  7:42pm
jaycjay:

@Robert, if it were anyone but Shatner performing in exactly the same style it might not do that to me. I'm not even saying his voice is bad, but it's very distinctive, It's obviously HIM, and so I picture him doing a hammy performance of it, and laugh. Anything he performs, to me, is funny... which can ruin a song that's not really supposed to be funny.
  7:42pm
trent:

Y'all spittin so much truth out there don't even know how to keep up so Imma lay back and mix it up while y'all keep writin truths
  7:43pm
Robert:

Talented and knowledgeable. Even the guys who don't do music programs know music, and the DJs usually have knowledge about several genres of music. At any given time, if you ask about Chinese music of the 15th C., there's probably someone in the bldg. who can answer! I'm always impressed by this.
  7:43pm
Adam in Portland:

Trent, consider coming back in the fall with a berry cobbler inked on your cheek?
  7:44pm
Adam in Portland:

Thoughtful truth spit, Robert.
  7:45pm
Robert:

But jcj, THAT one IS supposed to be funny. A wry type of humor, of course, that makes a point, but funny nevertheless.
  7:45pm
trent:

ADAM- on it - but it might be more of a sonic the hedgehog popsicle
  7:46pm
Adam in Portland:

Sonic Bomb Pop? ;-)
  7:46pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Thanks for the music!!
  7:49pm
Adam in Portland:

Trent, your show is shtraighht Xanadu! Thank you!!
  7:51pm
Marmalade Kitty:

Vote Dead Kennedys! not dead dead kennedys!
  7:52pm
Adam in Portland:

Rap Snax!!
  7:54pm
Adam in Portland:

Trent, do you know who produced the beats for this track? Clams Casino?
  7:56pm
Adam in Portland:

Xoxoxo.
  7:57pm
Matt Chastain:

Trent you are my favorite DJ, you killed it every week and have the best taste, I love you
  7:59pm
EHC-NORSK:

  8:00pm
trent:

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE LOVE YOU FOREVER SEE YOU REAL SOON
  8:00pm
Adam in Portland:

Stop dragging our Trent around.
  8:02pm
Robert:

As long as there's space here, if you want to discuss it, I find "Common People" interesting as "2-way listening". The sort of story where I don't sympathize with the narrator.

Yes, the tourist did come across condescending -- but so does the persona singing the song!
  8:02pm
Keith DePaolo:

I love your show Trent, I first noticed it when I was listening to WFMU in my car and you were playing some alright sounding electronic music, and then you played kuru kuru rock and I FLIPPED. Been listening to you ever since, I am going to miss your show so goddamn much, always looked forward to it
  9:03pm
trent:

Keith thanks so much!!! That is so super-nice and the perfect example of what I'd like to have happen during an FM broadcast show, don't worry, more audio content coming soon :)
  1:35pm
KD:

Trent - a perfect condensation of all that was best about Sound and Safe into 60 minutes... and great to hear the old intro again. Hope to hear you again here or elsewhere before too long.
  10:03pm
JC:

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  9:41am
