A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Of Comelade, the Mutant Sounds blog comments:"here's another of Comelade's amazing releases, this one mobilizing his usual array of toy instruments, wheezy keys and small percussive objects in a virtual object lesson on how to milk unexpected emotion from that which superficially appears to be ephemeral and slight. Absolutely exquisite work."

I heard: "to send Ken a loft with helium balloons" (I have stupid vision of Soho loft full of balloons)

Did you hear about the helium price shocks? That will be an EXPENSIVE stunt! Or (I guess) get it while it lasts . . .

Anyways, I love your show! Always do . . . Trouble, you make my Tuesday mornings shine.

trouble!! thanks for the news letter! i wrote dj ice pack an email letting him know what emily and i are up to. hope you have a restfull turkey day.

its grey and cold in Cols today, and i know it may sound crazy, but it feels like the cold here in Ohio is colder then the cold in Maine.
  11:43am
trouble:

hey patrick! i agree. i thought the cold was worse in switzerland than RI, the sea does something to the air to soften it maybe...in my most scientific meteorology voice, hi to emily!

lake champlain seems to do the same thing in VT and in upstate NY around it. It always seems warmer around the big lake than the rest of the state. 10 degrees or more.
  11:49am
Adrian in London:

Hello Trouble and lovely people. I've just fought my way through the evil blizzard* that's hit London (*a couple of inches of snow). The country is at a standstill. But a colleague's sister lives in Helsinki, and, as Stu can probably attest, it's something like -17Deg C there. The sister is pleased because it means her children are allowed to stay in during the school playtime break. Apparently, the cut-off point in Finland is -15. Anything above that is considered positively balmy, apparently.
  11:55am
trouble:

ooooh snow! adrian pop the fake fireplace log into the dvd player and cozy up digitally!
  11:55am
marq:

Hi Adrian. Does London get ice storms sometimes? Those are the worst. An evil ice storm can really devastate. Trees and power lines come down. Ice blankets everything.
  11:58am
Patrick:

ah yes the ice blanket, or as its called in New England during the winter "Thursday"
i am scared to death to see what Ohio is like with an Ice Blanket, people drive bad enough here already.
  11:59am
Adrian in London:

Marq: not in London; it's too built-up. But other, more exposed, parts of the country, such as Scotland, have a bad time of it sometimes. So Trouble might not want to visit there right now.
  12:00pm
marq:

one of the scariest things i've ever seen was power lines off the poles and whipping around shooting blue flames all over
