A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Mornin' Troubes! Have you seen the documentary "King of Kong"?
  9:22am
chris in brooklyn:

But my unicorn is a haflinger unicorn. It's SUPPOSED to be small.
  9:26am
Negator:

BLOODROCK!
  9:29am
55 Fingers:

Was that a Jay Ward soundtrack for transition music before?
  9:30am
paul:

GOD IN HEAVEN TEACH ME HOW TO DIIIIEEEEEE
  9:31am
55 Fingers:

Is it me or is the stream not matching Trouble's list?
  9:33am
Negator:

Yeah, they're playing "a game". I love Bloodrock though.
  9:33am
chris in brooklyn:

55: I was wondering about that too. figured I was just dumb or something.
  9:35am
stu:

the song title display on the player is not matching whats' being played. yesterday I had a song of Ken's for hours - it never changed.
  9:36am
Negator:

This station kick's ass too. I wonder if it's the same station as last time. Ken "F'n" Freedman. He really does amuse himself.
  9:40am
Peter:

What was that song.. "I Remember" that was played around 9:28AM? I did not know whether to laugh or cry? I might have to pick that LP up if I ever see it.
  9:44am
dale:

Stephanie says is beautiful. Is it new or old?
  9:45am
Negator:

That was the band Bloodrock from Bloodrock II called D.O.A. 1971
  9:45am
chris in brooklyn:

Peter: I believe you refer to the Bloodrock track "DOA" Their only hit, it charted at 36 in '71.
  9:49am
55 Fingers:

Trouble, I'd love to hear jo stafford but us streamers are subjected to 'on the sunday morning coming down', what kris kirstoferson?
  9:49am
trouble:

the keren ann track is a few years old
  9:50am
Peter:

Thanks so much. I will keep my eyes peeled for a copy of "Bloodrock II". It was striking!
  9:51am
R. P.:

This reminds me of April 1st.
  9:56am
trouble:

whoaaaa, all fixed.! i didn't have a clue why the comments were so not connecting to the music. You need to be more assertive dear web listeners. yell out "Help" when the stream is wack attack! ouch SOrry.xo
  10:00am
stu:

help - the playlist never listed the bloodrock song. and my winamp palyer is showing "staircase" even tho Trouble is speaking now at the end of the set
  10:04am
jason:

whats wrong with kris kristoferson?
  10:04am
trouble:

stu, you might need to hit refresh and/or close down and start upagain to get rid of the old prob
  10:04am
Ken:

You might need to shut down winamp and start up the stream again, not sure. Everything seems AOK now from my end. Sorry about the problem, the automatic switched screwed up and didn't switch to the main studio at 9am like it's supposed to. So what everybody was hearing was our "Plan C-" randomly shufflingMP3s from our library.
  10:06am
Ken:

The real shame is that Trouble's opening set today was fantastic. Go back and listen to the archive later.
  10:06am
55 Fingers:

jason: Nothing wrong with kris (Hell, Heaven's Gate is my favorite movie!) but he's no jo.
  10:10am
stu:

ok - I've shut down and re-started. will let you know if I encounter any other abnormalities
  10:10am
Negator:

Thanks for the update, Ken. The shuffled set was strong. Especially the first 30 min. I always listen to Trouble's show again at home. I also use it as a guide for selecting new music. Trouble is rare......
  10:14am
Sasha:

mark tamea! truly amazing. thanks trouble
  10:18am
spaniel:

i really enjoyed that festival song. i had to listen to it a second time.
  10:20am
trouble:

hey! that's no fair! i would love to play it twice...:)
  10:26am
jason:

why can't you do "the rewind?" hot 97 does it all the time.
  10:26am
spaniel:

you have my permission but i'm really enjoying the current trajectory as well.
  10:26am
paul:

godzuki!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10:26am
TTTTT:

Those moon traveler guys were awfully chatty
  10:29am
Listener Dave from NH:

Hot 97-style rewind, huh?
Funk Master Trouble has a certain ring to it, doesn't it?
  10:31am
55 Fingers:

Put the Trouble Funk in your Trunk!
  10:39am
Negator:

susan cadogan I will be looking into. Bent Spoon written up in Gormet magazine. I like the name "Troubes"
  10:41am
jamesie:

I dont know why my winamp playlist had http://live365.com/play/wfmu1 in it.... strange... maybe part of the earlier shenanegans
  10:42am
Parq:

Miss T, no names please, but I've heard "yammering on" on this station often enough. Your last mike break didn't even come close. I'm glad Ice Pack enjoyed the Kit movie.
  10:43am
trouble:

the bent spoon in princeton , NJ was also writen up in this issue of edible New jersey
  10:46am
nh_dave:

I could listen to miles bass lines all day long from this era
  10:49am
Listener Dave from NH:

I used to live in Princeton (oof - almost 9 years ago?) and still swear by The Halo Pub for ice cream. Also, The Pancake House.
My tastes had to skew cheap because I lived next door to the Record Exchange.
  10:55am
trouble:

urgh, dave you have exposed my inner core of conflict. I too love halo pub, but bent spoon does blood orange and plum /lavender sorbets...what can i do?
  10:58am
Parq:

In the words of cheap guy-fantasy movies too numerous to count, Miss T, have both.
  11:03am
sugarwolf:

you can never eat too much ice cream!!
  11:06am
dc pat:

I ate so much ice cream last night that my 2 year old son was up all night...
  11:08am
john:

Oh man, JUST missed Francoise Hardy, who I've had a massive crush on since some high school french class or other....awe-inspiring playlist today!
  11:10am
Ken:

I just realized that the archive of today's show will not contain the real beginning of Trouble's show. Unless somebody recorded it over the air... let me know if so.. ken at wfmu dot org
  11:16am
Listener Rickie D:

... in the years that followed airwave listeners teased the online listeners for missing it. Yes, yes, Trouble reached a peak that morning, but there was no proof, merely the memories that a lucky few proudly carried around with them.
  11:25am
Parq:

"Black Coffee" is one of my most requested songs, I'll tell ya that. Great reading by Sarah.
  11:37am
spaniel:

a thursday thirdtake!
  11:49am
Emile:

'yo yo yo, trouble is officially the biggest midget in da game!!!!'

thanks for the slim n' slam
  11:52am
dale:

wow! the boss goes wall of sound....I've always liked this song.
  11:55am
john:

Doesn't he sound like Stephin Merritt there, though?
  11:56am
pat:

@john, totally magnetic fields, with a little riff borrowed from the kids are all right
  11:56am
Emile LeBrun:

totally!!
  12:01pm
dale:

wfuv plays that springsteen song, and like everything they play, they play it too much.
  12:21pm
Drew:

I always thought the Merritt song was kind of a Bruce rip-off circa Born in the USA/Tunnel of Love... so there.
