Throughout the episode, George sings the song "Master of the House" from the musical Les Misérables.[2] Les Misérables ran on Broadway for sixteen years, making it one of the longest-running musicals in Broadway's history.[2] In response to George constantly singing "Master of the House", Jerry tells him about German composer Robert Schumann, who went insane from hearing the same note over and over in his head.[2]

I'm fascinated by British Isles communities in the Americas. That must have been a great experience, despite the admonishment you received.

As for my Welsh forebears, it's a rather ugly story, actually, but what they did (and then undid) to one of my African ancestors became case law in antebellum South Carolina.

Nonetheless, I've forgiven them enough to have stayed at Portmeirion in North Wales (aka The Village from The Prisoner).

I think it depends on the interpretation. The ABT 70s performance is one of my personal favs!

Mahalia Jackson was the inspiration for Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech. "Tell them about the dream, Martin!"

I figured as much. I just love snead. I think it’s bonkers how much adversity Sinead met in her career. Honestly just pathetic. Especially about the SNL pope picture thing?

Classical music moved into tonality and calmed down a lot, mostly spearheaded by the avant-gardists who mellowed as they got older, or felt they had run it into the ground. But the broader sense of the term "avant-garde" really includes Gesualdo, Beethoven, Liszt, and more
