Obscure musical gems, avant experimentation, and classics worth rehearing. A conurbation of Leslie speakers, timbales, plungers, arch-tops, tablas, and squeaky reeds. Black ties, pork pies, Cuban boots, Nudie suits, bobbysocks, turtlenecks, and high-heeled sneakers. Jazz is the north star but it’s a wide universe, so says The Laughing Clock.

I actually did have a database of my LP's and CD's in the 90s (too much time to kill), but it's long gone, and quite out of date if I did dig it up.

Bill Evans did this song beautifully a number of times (Peacocks).

The biggest pain is wearing a mask AT HOME around my family (not sure it'll help, I had mild symptoms a day or so before I tested...)

Heavy on the pedal, seems. Nice tracks!

I've always wondered whether Rowles wrote this after Wallace Stevens' "Domination in Black." Anybody?

i have a notebook of my physical media, in alphabetical order and specifying the format(s).
then i have a notebook of my cassette tapes, which are stored numerically; so each numbered entree is cross-referenced with the alphabetical notebook.
then i have another notebook listing them by "genre" or "style" -which i never finished.
but many things never got logged in, for various reasons.

I thought The Peacocks refers to their (annoying) call, which is heard in the song.

Looking at the LP now: "drones and clones" refers to the compositional structure of this movement. D'oh! I shoulda caught on to that!

Great show; just catching up to it. New to me Cecil and Ornette two highlights, plus Rowles' own Peacocks. Thanks, DJ Peter!
