word! Funny story: at the time a friend went to London for the first time. I asked him to bring back music. He asked the Tower Records clerk for 3 CDs of ambient, trip hop, jungle. He broght back three jewels: GC 76 14, Subsurfing Frozen Ants, and a Ninja Tunes compilation. Subsurfing is also a masterpiece!

her factoid: when I was living in Bristol I attended the 2017 (16?) Massive Attack concert in Clifton. Under the pouring "rain" (it was a loots of rain). Nobody cared. nor MA on stage, nor us in the field dancing in a pool. Went home in a taxi and then a looong hot bath to gain my limbs back.

I was introduced to FSOL by a mate (among other things like making music with the FT2 and forming a band with him and more) in 1996 I believe with ISDN. Previous I was more clubby house. No chresti it was at a basement club called Smart Bar, where I spent a LOT of time in the 80s and then again in the 2010s.I never went to The Warehouse, but I went once to the Power Plant which followed it. Both were in industrial areas I wasn’t confident to go to alone (I was very young and new to Chicago), but we got a group together once for the Power Plant.

My mother was physically on the decline for the last decade, and dementia showed up four yers ago. she's only 74. my father called me yesterday at 8:30am to ask if i was coming as it might be my mom's last t-giving. He hasn't called me himself in over a year, so i know it's serious.

there was this story about a nursing home with people with dementia who would keep trying to leave the home on their own and staff would have to search the community for them, so they built a bus stop in front of the building wher they could always find thge people waiting for the bus which would never come, sometimes you have to build your own bus stop in situations like that, hope i'm remembering story correctly...

@ngh the loss of speech isn't always constant. My Dad actually found the capacity to be almost chatty intermittently at the end. I hope you're lucky and get that gift.

my maternal grandmother didn't have dementia, but she would escape her home on the regular, and be found 10-15 miles away before she was found. (my parents got a lot of late night calls when I was a kid).
