Not sure how much polka is involved, yet perhaps try a unique Suisse faux reggae band :
Peeni Walli (sp?) Orchestra. (see/hear Fizze/Victor de Bros & Dizze/Gilles Rieder).
It’s a lighter side from some talented musicians that derive from the genre of “Rock in Opposition” (aka R.I.O).
Also hear the exceptional “Kula Hatha Manua” (sp?) & other splinters.
Perhaps accordion 🪗 Bratko Bibic, as well.

Sounds like a good set of problems for an artist to have (as opposed to never being recognized, only to be "discovered" after their death)

Ahh yes, perhaps I have heard some of his trax over the frequencies. Familiar recent name & sound and refreshing genre mashing up.
I tend to gravitate towards genre mix-‘em-ups. Especially when a ln indigenous folk based element is the grounding source. Blah blah blah.

i believe there was a glitch in the app. as this afternoon, there would be a car less then two blocks away, and it would say 22 mins, so i cancelled. I did another one, and it said, 23 mins away, when it was maybe 7 mins away. so, i believe the pricing was glitched too. i didn't get the bug on the way home...

yeah, that sounds like a good theory. i've never taken lyft or uber do thet have meters of a sort?
Avatar 1:51am
northguineahills:

↳ tom tom the pipers son @1:49
they have metrics which determine the price. peak demand hours, and location. i found out going to one cafe, b/c it was outside of city limits, if i had the car drop me off across the street, i'd save $3. NYC, is a different animal, and their algorithms are in constant flux (which while in brooklyn, i use the old-school car services).
Avatar 1:55am
tom tom the pipers son:

↳ northguineahills @1:51
i guess it would be impossible, after the fact, to ask driver to reboot his metrics, to avoid the glitch and overpricing.

↳ tom tom the pipers son @1:41
True, but what are you gonna do? Fortunately there are people like me, oblivious to market trends and the hype cycles of the so-called art world -- so much of an ignoramus, in fact, that I never heard of Hendricks until I stumbled into the Frick last week. Thus affording myself the opportunity to take in his works as such, free (more or less) of baggage or preconception.
