I used to have a recurring dream as a child that I was taken to a boarding school and upon arriving, I knew there was an illusion and when my parents said goodbye to me at the front door, they were split open and the headmistress and everyone there shed their skin to reveal they were monsters and they wanted to make me one too.

Today, I've been WFHing. Walked to a record store in a neighbouring suburb then walked back to a cafe a block away from home.


There I bumped into a former co-worker who I haven't seen for 3 years - we left the same university when the pandemic caused lots of us to take a voluntary separation package. He got hired at the university a few months ago.

there's a young palestinian woman that i talk to in my local supermarket and of course we've talked about what's going on, and she said the expulsion of palestinians was prophesied in a sacred text and that one day, far in the future, the palestinians would return, which on the one hand sounds like magical thinking and is understandable in traumatic situations, otoh might turn out to be what happens

I went with my mom to Stations of the Cross services during Lent. It's called Gorskie Zale in Polish which translates to bitter tears. There were specific Polish songs. I love the Polish Catholic music and food, but I'm not a believer.
