Ken From Dr. Jeckyll And Mr. Hyde Park:

Halloween is not a pleasant holiday for a pumpkin. They slice your top off, dig your guts out, stab eyes and mouth in your carcass and possibly stick a candle in the hollow cavity. 🎃 Then your corpse rots on the porch for a week.

And once again, we turn to The Master of DIY horror soundtracks!

Coincidentally, I've recently been tripping out on remakes of the "Escape From New York" main theme on YT, and there are quite a few good ones out there! And on that subject, I'd like to recommend to everyone listening that you go visit Enzo Margaglio on YT, who does amazing synthwave remakes of some favorite movie & TV themes:

1st time I heard the Halloween theme was on the Wide World of Sports production of the bicycle Race Across America, I'd thought it an original composition for the show! They used it to go with a segment according to a later account by one of the racers, where he'd been having double vision, maybe hallucinating too.

It's interesting cause my understanding is the folk roots are the same ? (Vamps could be Woovz)... So the Class element there - good observation. The book 'The Monster Show' by Skal notes this element of a Mythical East Europe - just in the period between the Wars...

Though vampires are so often counts for some reason...you'd think some dukes would get in there. Netflix has a pretty good one now El Conde casting Pinochet as a vampire...I liked it.

Mexican and Detroit-area pizza has a predliction for black olives on pizza. Detroit-area pizza even uses green olives on pizza. Very salty stuff there.

the olives on most pizzas are canned and have a metallic aftertaste, i think that's oliver's objection
