sorry, just saw this. Long story short: I was trying to change out one of the bulbs on my range hood (freaking impossible job) and a filter did a 1000-1 shot and fell behind the stove. So I had to pull it back from the wall. Now it's hung up on a tile or something and the fit from the alcove is VERY VERY tight; I can't get it in far enough to push it back. I don't have the upper body power and my butt is too big to squeeze in, so hoping that my amazing super can do it. He's only 5'8" or so but pure muscle--think all the bantam weight Central American boxers out there-- and I am sure it will take him 2 seconds. At least when I had the filters off I was FINALLY able to find the model number of my range hood-- I literally had to shine a flashlight into the guts of the hood, while holding up my phone, unable to see what I was doing, and take random photos. As such, I can now order the correct light bulbs, which will also need substantial upper body power to put in, which I will pay my dude to do. A good super is a lifesaver.

The bulbs have those stupid little prongs on them and are springloaded. It requires a special suction cup. I ordered one and it fell apart now I need to re-order a one-piece cup and also return the expensive bulbs that I bought that were the wrong kind. At least now that I have the model number I was able to FINALLY reorder more charcoal filters for the range hood, which hadn't been changed in G-d knows how long. The covers are snap-in and pretty secure; this was a freak accident where one came out fast, BOUNCED, and wound up behind the stove.

So basically to change them, you take the Special Suction cup, press HARD on the light, and rotate it left about 90 degrees. This requires a tremendous amount of upward, focused force and I don't want the fucking bulb to break in the socket due to my klutziness. I've seen my super walk around with 2 air conditioners under one arm and one in the other and do flights of steps with them, so I think he won't have an issue....
