I make them almost spheres, to brown the outside and leave the inside pink. But, the only way to get a thin burger medium or medium rare, I believe, is to put it on frozen; the outside thaws and browns and since the inside has to thaw and isn't directly exposed to the heat, it can remain pink (assuming yoi don't just overfcook the whole thing). My $0.02

Food poisoning becomes more of a risk with medium rare burgers (even when compared to steak-the badteria seem to be on the outside of the meat, but when you grind it up, you spread them throughout the chop meat). Still, I can't eat most well done burgers.

I make them almost spheres, to brown the outside and leave the inside pink. But, the only way to get a thin burger medium or medium rare, I believe, is to put it on frozen; the outside thaws and browns and since the inside has to thaw and isn't directly exposed to the heat, it can remain pink (assuming yoi don't just overfcook the whole thing). My $0.02

Food poisoning becomes more of a risk with medium rare burgers (even when compared to steak-the badteria seem to be on the outside of the meat, but when you grind it up, you spread them throughout the chop meat). Still, I can't eat most well done burgers.
