We're facing Bagpipe's mortality, and it's gutting us. He had his spleen removed because of a tumor, and with the kind of cancer he has, the median survival is three months. I think he's doing OK right now. We're having a party for him tomorrow so his friends can all come see him. But we are really wrecked. We just thought we'd have more time with him, and we're trying to make this the Summer of Bagpipe, but the grief is always already waiting there.

Damn it.

our fraidy cat had fiv when we trapped him. vet said keep him away from other cats in the household but i did a lot of reading and said screw it - he ended up being the big lug all the other cats loved. passed from cancer two years ago, probably about 13 years old.
