Avatar 10:09pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Interests me much how Electric Miles for some time seemed to be its own Island Genre - not like other Fusion really - not Psychedelic Rawk ...how 'Bitches Brew' seemed monumental ...& yet still a bit of an Orphan like that.
Then into the era of listening to FMU (for me I mean) especially starting to realize that either - wasn't true - or became less true finally, That is - other types of Fusing Jazz & Rawk than what we tended to think of Fusion as in the 70s became apparent & evident...

a couple more Miles that just really surprise you. "On the Corner" and "Water Babies". The beauty of Miles was always leaving you in the dust. He was so far ahead of any aficionado or avid fan of his. It happened to me 4 or 5 times. He was a great painter musically. I don't think the man ever looked back. It's like okay I'm not going to play that for you. I'm playing this! and of course it was genius. His last days/live concerts in Germany were heartbreaking! you know when he covered Cindy Lauper and stuff. Even though his rendition was extremely good!

Erik-O-Vert:

🙏for Correction:”Dark Magus”!
For me right up there with Agharta.
Don’t sleep on “Jack Johnson”! He will definitely knock you into kingdom come! It fits with all the others you already love. Personally speaking, it was my gateway electric Miles album.
For me, Way more condensed and much funner than “Bitches Brew”. Still haven’t heard the JJ box set version. Only the original 2 side long epics!
I believe Sonny Sharrock is featured as one of the stellar on 🔥 guitarists in one of the LorR channels. Originally uncredited for some reason (contractual label lending?) Tops!

Def. The box set (4CDs?) of Silent Way absolutely opened my head up in a few ways. One being that the transition from earlier to Electric was not so sudden with BitchesBrew. & I imagine all the boxes for all his albums are rich like that.
