Hey, Jeremiah! It's my first time listening to you. I'm enjoying Bhajan Bhoy a whole lot.

I mean, just think about it, Jeremiah. You, sir, are responsible for the first time, yes, the first, that the sound waves of Bhajan Bhoy have graced these eardrums, and worked their way, through my cochleas, to my brain, where those wages produce that sort of dopamine infusion that guides a person through writing their morning journal entry at 4:13 AM EST.

Greetings from lovely Beverly Massachusetts!

Jeremiah, how did you come to be a fan of the music you play? I'm a school librarian, and I admit I'm not only asking you to learn something, but also to practice my query skills. I'm trying to ask questions that people enjoy answering; I notice that when it centers around someone's area of expertise, they tend to enjoy sharing some information about it. Then they do this, and I get something out of it.

It's, you know, win-win.

Anyway, as I said: in these parts, a person doesn't come across sounds like this that often. So for you, what is it? Did you grow up around this music? Did you have a friend who introduced you to it? A teacher? A cool family member? And where was music in your teen years? Was it this music?

Hoo, boy. A lot of questions, I tells ya, a lot of questions. So let's start at the beginning: what got you into this music, pal?

When did you first come across music such as the music you play on your show? Childhood relative? High school peer? College radio station friend? Random listen to a free-form radio station at 4:57 in the morning?

Most of this stuff was just in the new bin and i liked it so I'm playing it. In HS I mostly listened to indie and punk and if you see me DJ IRL i'm usually playing disco.

As a librarian, I'm just always interested in how people develop a field of knowledge. Obviously, Jeremiah, you know a lot about the music you play, and clearly immerse yourself in these sounds. I just always love to find out about another person's process of being their "own librarian," and finding the sources that feed their mind.

I would imagine DJing gives you exposure to new ideas. It must be a bit like when I go to a conference, and all of us book nerds introduce each other to new things to read.

Not to compare myself to DJing in by any means with this: when I worked at Tower Records way back in 1991, I was amazed at how much I picked up by just being around, sigh as I mourn their disappearence everywhere but here, physical objects that made music when someone put them into a player of some sort.

Where do you DJ? When I come to New York, it would be fun to take my significant other to a club where you work.
