Hello, all! Today's backing for the cassettes is an album by Charlie & the Record Mailers. It may not have been the best choice (it's kinda boring -- sorry!)

Plain paper cover is fine. At least it wasn't the infamous Zoviet-France one with the sandpaper sleeve. That'd mess with the tapes.

i had to explain to someone recently what cel-ray was because i brought in my empty celery seed spice jar to their shop for refill. i'd marked the top, many years ago, "cel-ray".

still b/p:

↳ Tony Coulter @1:10
It certainly didn't survive, but...
When I was a high school junior, I made -- or tried to make -- a tape for either constitutional liberties or political science class. "Serious" questions, with clips from pop songs as responses, in the mode of the Dickie Goodman hits of the day. The excerpts, from radio speaker to portable cassette recorder mike, were awful quality. And I think most of the thing was unlistenable, even unintelligible. Don't remember how I managed to edit the sequence of my voiced questions alternating with isolated song bits.
The teacher was merciful, as I recall, crediting me for the effort if not for the production quality or effectiveness.
Avatar 1:24pm
Tony Coulter:

Hey, hey, b/p! My teenage tapes have all been vaporized too.

Avatar 1:33pm

Yeah, it's great packaging. It's a real metal tin.
Avatar 1:34pm
Tony Coulter:

... which the cassette comes inside of.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm
coelacanth∅:

i assumed the tape came in the tin; but are the other images just the tapes' inserts, unfolded?
Avatar 1:47pm
Tony Coulter:

↳ coelacanth∅ @1:44
No, the other stuff is the artwork for the Insane Music comps. Those tapes each come with one of those sheets of paper inside a clear plastic bag. The sheets act as covers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm
coelacanth∅:

right on. i meant for the other 2 cassettes, the insane music tapes.
so they had no actual case?
Avatar 1:49pm
Tony Coulter:

Nope.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm
coelacanth∅:

Thanks, just curious (as the images are notably larger than the tin)
Avatar 1:59pm
Tony Coulter:

Their sheet-inside-a-plastic-bag cover system looks good, but the sheets get do a bit crumpled over time. I've got all my Insane Music comps double-bagged, like a nerdy comic book collector.
