Way too much chores and tasks so far for a Saturday over here. Vacuuming, mopping, cooking. And transacting! We had to finalize flights and hotel for my thirtieth HS reunion in Atlanta in April and my flights to Milwaukee in March for my friends' triumphant return to the D&D convention in Lake Geneva that we haven't been to since 2019.

Oh, back in the seventies, sometimes they'd have 30-40, it sounds like, but it also doesn't sound particularly fun. Trust me, running a game with 12 characters is super challenging, and I don't want to turn into a martinet, which I think was the order of the day back in the day.

We will attempt to play in the tournament at GaryCon (our team: Monsters of the Prophecy), which sorts 100 players into I think 10 tables, all playing through the same adventure. Whichever team checks off the most "scoring" boxes -- finding certain things, reaching certain milestones, avoiding combat -- wins (I think gets a discount on next year's con?).

I got that feeling about ComicCon as well after watching a few attendee videos. Cost of concessions and merch are always ridiculous at events. I'd go for the panels rather than the pageantry.
