	♥ 9:34am Handy Haversack: ↳ Mr. Oxford @9:31 If you get the Mississippi Records newsletter, there was a good story yesterday on song poems -- there was a scam going for a few decades where you could send lyrics (and money) in and a company would actually record your song with musicians and send you a record. The lie was that they'd shop it around to record companies. But still, you got a record of your song played by hardcore session musicians. There's a documentary about it that MR is screening soon. Obviously, most of the songs are garbage, but it sounds like there are some weird gems in the corpus.

The lie was that they'd shop it around to record companies. But still, you got a record of your song played by hardcore session musicians. There's a documentary about it that MR is screening soon. Obviously, most of the songs are garbage, but it sounds like there are some weird gems in the corpus.
