	🦀 ♥ 9:32am Uncle Michael: My covid was knocked down considerably by Paxlovid. I finished that treatment on Wednesday. Friday evening symptoms began to re-emerge. My first positive was on the night of the 9th. Here on the 18th I'm about toe test positive again, though it won't be official for five more minutes. Crap. I'm quadruple-vaxed and single-boosted.

	🦀 ♥ 9:33am Wendy del Formaggio: @DoctorJazz: That was my experience, too -- I've had worse colds, and was (and am) fully vaccinated for that time period. But, this strain of cold lasted longer than any I've ever had. That fucker would NOT leave my sinuses. Finally, my pharmacist recommended the VIP Sudafed (the one you gotta show ID to get), and within 12 hours, my sinuses drained. I was a happy del Formaggio!

	🦀 ♥ 9:36am doctorjazz: Everyone on my family got it around the same time-my younger daughter did have the rebound(and didn't take Paxlovid-happens, but higher incidence if you do take Paxlovid. There are some studies that find long covid is also less common after taking Paxlovid, so there's another reason to take it. We didn't, though, our illness was really mild).

	🦀 ♥ 9:38am Wendy del Formaggio: When I went and got tested for COVID, they let me keep my boots on. I was glad. It was a very sloppy, snowy day.
	🦀 ♥ 9:39am Uncle Michael: My PCP cautioned me not to read too much into any subsequent tests, as the antigen test reveals the presence of virus, not necessarily live virus. Sufficient dead viral cells will test positive, apparently. I may or may not be infectious. That's not quite useful.

	🦀 ♥ 9:43am doctorjazz: That's a "false positive"-I believe that's more common on the pcr(which is done in the office, and sent out to a lab). The home test is much more likely to be "false negative", or miss it when you really have covid. But early in the pandemic in did have a false positive rapid test.

I'll have to decide whether to reach out to the weekend on-call person, or just wait till tomorrow. Isolating and masking at home was a real drag...but so far, the missus hasn't gotten ill...so, it's worth it. I worry about the time between the end of Paxlovid and now, when I didn't isolate at home, or mask.

	🦀 ♥ 11:43am Listener Gregory: I have an album or two by the Great Lakes Quartet, with Threadgill & DeJohnette, and there is some very good playing on it (not surprisingly), but I don't really get why these suites are so long. The same goes for the older Freedom Suite. No one can hear the entire thing in a sitting, and the 4th disc sounds much like you remember the first and second. That is my reaction, anyway.

	🦀 ♥ 9:32am Uncle Michael: My covid was knocked down considerably by Paxlovid. I finished that treatment on Wednesday. Friday evening symptoms began to re-emerge. My first positive was on the night of the 9th. Here on the 18th I'm about toe test positive again, though it won't be official for five more minutes. Crap. I'm quadruple-vaxed and single-boosted.

	🦀 ♥ 9:33am Wendy del Formaggio: @DoctorJazz: That was my experience, too -- I've had worse colds, and was (and am) fully vaccinated for that time period. But, this strain of cold lasted longer than any I've ever had. That fucker would NOT leave my sinuses. Finally, my pharmacist recommended the VIP Sudafed (the one you gotta show ID to get), and within 12 hours, my sinuses drained. I was a happy del Formaggio!

	🦀 ♥ 9:36am doctorjazz: Everyone on my family got it around the same time-my younger daughter did have the rebound(and didn't take Paxlovid-happens, but higher incidence if you do take Paxlovid. There are some studies that find long covid is also less common after taking Paxlovid, so there's another reason to take it. We didn't, though, our illness was really mild).

	🦀 ♥ 9:39am Uncle Michael: My PCP cautioned me not to read too much into any subsequent tests, as the antigen test reveals the presence of virus, not necessarily live virus. Sufficient dead viral cells will test positive, apparently. I may or may not be infectious. That's not quite useful.

The home test is much more likely to be "false negative", or miss it when you really have covid. But early in the pandemic in did have a false positive rapid test.

I worry about the time between the end of Paxlovid and now, when I didn't isolate at home, or mask.

The same goes for the older Freedom Suite. No one can hear the entire thing in a sitting, and the 4th disc sounds much like you remember the first and second. That is my reaction, anyway.
