	6:35am Renée In Fanwood: While teaching in a classroom for the first time this week, I noticed that every child's eyes grew really wide and they were looking behind me. I thought I would see a dinosaur or a monster or something. It was an aide with a giant tray of candy, going from room to room for teacher appreciation week! So funny!

	6:46am The Butterman: We had ice cream for teacher appreciation yesterday. I was uncomfortable around so many people eating. Good ice cream though. AND I had my superintendent pop in to my classroom with the county superintendent. They tried to hit it and quit it and I said “nope, you’re not done in here” and brought them around to each of the 12 kids painting and introduced them by full name and briefly explained their piece. Then I let the suits leave.

	7:37am dk50b: LBCD, TDK60, Buddha and Doug, In a sickeningly familiar story, Fairway was looted and driven into bankruptcy twice by private equity firms. After Sterling Equities took over 2007, despite their utter lack of retail knowledge they launched a disastrous expansion saddling Fairway with insurmountable debt. The final Chapter 11 was January 2020, so it wasn't COVID, but debt and increased competition. Turns out Village Super Market bought a few stores, including the original, but only the parking lot in Harlem. gothamist.com...

YB: Have you read Robert E. Howard's Conan stuff? Some of the most exciting adventure writing ever, but boiling-hot, Texas-style racism there! Bierce is excellent!

YB: Have you read Robert E. Howard's Conan stuff? Some of the most exciting adventure writing ever, but boiling-hot, Texas-style racism there! Bierce is excellent!
